While playing a tag team battle, to change characters
during a fight press L1 + L3 + R3. In the
Japanese version, press R1 + R3 + L3. When you are playing a Tag Team or Free Battle mode battle (or
when you have more than two characters to battle with), you will
have on the upper left corner your next fighter (which you press
L3, R3, and L2 to get). Hold L2 and press
the Left or Right to choose the next fighter you
want freely, giving you a better hand in selecting your team.
Note: In order for this to work, you must have more than two characters
when in battle.

A Pursuer Who Calls Death". The battle directions will be
"?????", but if you defeat Dordoria a new scenario will
appear. In this scenario there are nine battles. It is long, but
the story line is interesting.

3 characters:
Go to Dragon Arena, then use any character that
you have leveled up and fight anyone on the list. After you have
won the fight and the level up points have been added to your
character, press Start. You will get a code. Take that
code and input it in Data Center mode in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai
3. Your character from Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 will
be inputted into Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2. The
best character to use is someone who has been leveled up to 99.

Hint: Transformations:
Sometimes there are different type of transformation
on one character. For example, Gohan can turn Super Saiyan and
into Great Saiyaman. Press the D-pad to transform into
another type of form. In other cases pressing different directions
can skip transformations. For example, Goku turning into Super
Saiyan 2 without turning Super Saiyan first. Note: For one level
of transformation you need one Favorite gauge bar.


Hint: Fusions:
When playing Tag Team matches hold L2 and press
Left + R3. Note: This requires three Favorite gauge
bars and the correct characters to fuse with; such as Goten and
Trunks to fuse into Gotenks.


Hint: Avoiding a block:
If you do a Dragon Smash on some of the more difficult
opponents, they will block and send you staggering backwards.
However, if you change the direction you are more likely to get
a clear shot. Do an attack in the same direction too many times
in a row and they will start blocking in the same direction. Try
to vary your attacks.


Hint: Better block:
If you do the common block (Basic Block, Circle)
it will not block much. However, if you press Triangle
while blocking your character will lean in some way. This is actually
a better block. It blocks any kind of melee attack. Also, if your
opponent does a Ki rush attack (for example, high speed rush),
it will still block it, but your guard breaks. This may require
energy depending on how long you use the block.


Hint: High damage combo:
Use the following trick for a 30,000 damage combo.
You must be in Max mode/10 Ki bars. Approach or get close to the
enemy by holding X then pressing Square many times
to do the Violent Rush combo. Keep pressing Square until
your Ki bar is 1 or 2 (blue Ki bar), then hold L2 + Square
to smash your opponent directly. Then, quickly press L2
+ Down + Triangle for an Ultimate Blast. If done
correctly, this will do a +40 hit combo and +30,000 damage.


Hint: Ruined Earth battlefield:
Use a finishing special like Spirit Bomb on the Earth
Wasteland during an Earth saga such as Sayin or Buu.

them with the early Saiyan characters.


Hint: Z-Items:
The best Z-Items you can have are of the following:
1 Genuine Power, 4 Title (Tenkaichi), 1 Kiss of # 18, and either
Majin Seal or Halo depending on your character.

Hint: Easy Dragon Balls:
In Story mode, fight as any character in the Town stage
and destroy all the buildings. Eventually you will find a dragon
ball. Walk to it and you will automatically get it. When you collect
all seven Dragon Balls go to the white dot on the map. A more difficult way to get Dragon Balls is to fight somebody
in either the Namek level or the Mountain Road level in Story
mode. The Namek level contains a lot of breakables but are difficult
to find, especially when you are locked on and your opponent moving
and changing your view. The Mountain Road level has almost nothing
but trees. If you happen to find Dragon Balls in those levels
by accident, pick them up. The following is a way of quickly locating the Dragon Balls without
spending valuable time smashing buildings or boulders. The entire
set of Dragon Balls may be found within the first four episodes
of the Saiyan Saga, the very first story in the Dragon Adventure
mode. Follow the directions below to find the seven Dragon Balls.
Note that you may need to re-enter the respective cities (yellow
dots on the world map) a few times before the items appear.

Hint: Easy money:
In Dragon Adventure mode, play until you get to the
Majin Buu Saga. When you make it to the Two Majin Buus storyline,
you will be playing as Fat Buu. During that story, go to the top
right area of the map and go to the Mountain Road area. Once there,
Yamcha will offer you a contest to see how long you can last.
If you either stay alive long enough or if you are strong enough
to defeat him, you will be awarded with not only 1,000,000 Zeni,
but you will also get Equipment Slots +4 and the Fox Mask fusion
capsule. Once done, go back to the scenario selection screen and
repeat. Increase Fat Buu's attributes as much as possible to make
this easier. It is recommended that you spend some time in the
Android Saga scenario and choose the Goku Defeated!?! story. Then,
go to the bottom of the map to the Southern Capital. When you
are fighting, destroy the buildings to look for a Dragon Ball.
Keep doing this until you find them all then summon Shenron and
hope that he has the Kiss From #18 capsule. That will bring up
your attributes very quickly. If you need to buy capsules for your characters early on in the
Saiyan Saga or Frieza Saga, replay the event Mysterious Alien
Warrior (Saiyan Saga 00) to unlock the hidden saga Fateful Brothers.
During the events of Fateful Brothers (where you play as Radditz),
there are several events where you can endlessly attempt the side
battles against groups of Saibamen. Each victory will result in
a green Z-Item called the Saibamen set, as well as some Zeni and
experience for Radditz. The item Saibamen set can be sold at Baba's
shop for 150,000 Zeni. Repeat this as many times as desired to
purchase Z-Items for your team. Also, purchasing the four Purple
Z-Items at the shop is also recommended. Each set of two can be
fused into the items Halo and Majin Seal, which allow good and

cost. This is a very helpful item during some of the more difficult
Sagas. After unlocking the Majin Buu Saga the other tip in this
section is much more effective. To obtain easy Zenny, fight in the Tree Of Might episode. Go into
the wasteland and fight the three training Saibamen. After the
fight, you will get the secret Saibamen set item which can be
sold for 150,000 Zenny. Repeat this as many times as desired to
collect easy money. Note: This is best done in later sagas and
when you use Super Saiyan 1 Trunks or Super Saiyan 2 Teen Gohan
in the Cell saga and others.


Hint: Completing Story mode:
To get 100% in Story mode, get a good set of Z items
to power-up characters. This will make it easier to defeat the
high level characters you find in special battles. Find and complete
(win by defeat) all of the special battles. This will unlock alternate
plots.An example of a special battle is the Piccolo vs. Raditz
battle. It is the very first battle in story mode.


Hint: Defeating Hirudegarn:
The point in the game where you must fight Hirudegarn
with Great Saiyaman 1 and 2 (Gohan and Videl) can be difficult.
Because of Hirudegarn's size any physical special moves just bounce
off. This makes Videl almost useless, and the only move Great
Saiyaman can effectively use is his L2 + Triangle
explosion. However, you can press Down + R3 to convert
back into normal Gohan. By doing this you can now use many effective
energy techniques that Great Saiyaman did not have, and you can
upgrade to Super Saiyan 2 which is strong enough to repel Hirudegarn
with punches and kicks.


Hint: Easy wins:
Use the following trick when you are facing a strong
opponent. When you have to chose a Z fighter, select the weaker
one first and the stronger last in order. Then, start the fight.
Choose a weak attack and try to dodge the first attack. Then,
use a strong attack (your strongest move if possible), then switch
your fighter and do the same procedure. If done correctly, you
should have lost only a small amount of your life, and you should
win.


Hint: Easily survive until time runs out:

To complete this task you must block as much as you
can, so your opponent cannot hit you very much.


Hint: Super 17: Combos:
Go near your opponent. Press Square(4), then
Circle + Left or Right. After you teleport,
press Triangle(4) then hold Triangle. Your opponent
should be temporarily stunned. After that, press L2 + Up
+Triangle for your Hell Storm attack. Go near your opponent by pressing X. Then, press Up
+ X. Your health and Ki should regenerate. depending on
the opponent. Immediately after the throw, press L2 + Up
+Triangle to execute your Hell Storm attack. Alternately,
immediately after the throw, press L2 + Triangle
for your other move. Hell Storm is more accurate and may do more
damage.


Hint: Finding Dragonballs:
Smash through breakable objects on battle maps and
run into the Dragonballs to get them. You must also win the battle.
Get the adventure "Fateful Brothers". During the first
scenario, go to the bottom of the map to the Southern Capital.
You will see General Tao. Challenge him (easiest for mode 1).
When the battle starts dash/move out to your right so he cannot
lock on. Charge until you have a decent amount of Ki and start
firing Ki shots at the buildings and cars. Do not shoot at the
trees because they do not usually have Dragonballs. Keep doing
this and if General Tao ever confronts you, do a smash to send
him flying. To get out of lock on mode, face in the opposite direction
and press Up. There should be a Dragonball on every map,
however after you destroy everything and you are sure there are
no Dragonballs, use your Dragon Radar. You will see a blinking
red/orange dot. Go to it and look around. Note: To make this much
easier, unlock Great Ape Raditz. To use Great Ape Raditz you will
need three blast gauges. Its worth it because he breaks through
any object by just walking through it. Also, General Tao cannot
smash or do anything to disturb you while you are looking for
Dragonballs.


Hint: Unlocking Great Ape forms:
Go to the battle in the Saiyan Saga where you fight
Napa. After you defeat him you will get Power Ball. Fuse it with
any Saiyan to get their Great Ape form.


Hint: Unlocking Grandpa Gohan:
On Dragon Adventure mode in Sayian Saga, defeat General
Tao to get the Masters Pupil skill. After that in the Buu Saga
when you first can play as Buu, go to the Mountain Road. You will
see Yamcha there. You will get the Fox Mask. Fuse those Z Items
and Grandpa Gohan will be unlocked.


Hint: Tournaments:
Complete the indicated task to unlock the corresponding
tournament.


Cell Games: Win three and Four Rounds type tournament at Budokai
Tenkaichi (the first tournament).


Mr. Money's Tournament: Win Three and Four Rounds type tournament
at Cell Games.


Five Rounds Tournament: Win Three and Four Rounds type tournament
at Mr. Money's Tournament.


Final Type Tournament: Win Five Rounds type tournament at every
tournament.

Hint: Transformations:
Press R3 (when Form is unlocked). Press R3
+ Down button to revert.


Glitch: See two Greatsaiyawomans:
Unlock Greatsaiyaman and Greatsaiyawoman. Select Greatsaiyaman
then choose Greatsaiyawoman as your opponent. When you start the
match save one blast stock. Then power up to Max Power mode and
do your ultimate special. Look closely -- when they do the kick
you will see two Greatsaiyawomens.


Glitch: Immobile lips:
When in Training mode, press Circle and switch
between Vegeta and Bulla. His or her lips will stay in the same
place while their body moves away.


Glitch: Misspelling:
Go to Z item fusion and fuse Powerball with Vegeta
(scouter). It should become Great Ape Vegeta. Then, go to Practice
mode. Do Great Ape Vegeta's ultimate attack. On the side where
it shows you the name of the attack, it will read "Super
Garlic Gun" instead of "Super Galick Gun". "Janemba" is supposed to be "Janempa" (big
yellow person) and "Janemba" the transformed version
(condensed evil form). When you unlock Vegito and Super Saiyan (or just Super) Vegito,
his name is spelled "Super Vegetto". Also on the Z Items
List there is an entry for "Vegeto and Super Vegeto".
In Dragon Adventure mode, under "Fusion Reborn", one
of the scenarios reads "Paikuhan's Decisive Moment"
when it should instead read "Pikkon's Decisive Moment".



Glitch: Wrong dialogue:
To into the Dueling option at the main menu and highlight
the "COM VS COM" option. Trunks will say "You can
really get some valuable training by fighting a computer"
when in fact you do not fight the computer. You will watch two
CPU characters fight. Play as SS2 Goku against Kid Gohan in the Master Level Cell Games
and win. Sometimes Goku will say "Sorry Grandpa, I guess
I over did it", confusing the name Gohan with Grandpa Gohan.




Glitch: Wrong name:
One of the Super Baby's (Super Baby One or Super Baby
Two) does Final Flash. However when you look at the name it appears
as "Big Bang".
