Hint: Japanese mode:
Go to the options menu, select "Sound", then
choose Japanese mode. All the voices and moves will change. Notice

Hint: Master Skills:
Unlock all characters unlocked, then start Ultimate
Battle under the normal difficulty setting. Select "Practice",
then defeat ten consecutive characters. This will unlock the Dragon
Power Purple Potara. Defeat twenty consecutive characters to unlock
the Miracle Purple Potara. Fuse the Miracle and Dragon Power Purple
Potaras to get Master Skills. Select Ultimate Battle mode. Select the 100 top rankings (not
the practice one). Choose any character (SSJ4 Gogeta recommended).
Battle your way to the top 100. You will face the regular Goku
at the number one spot. Once you defeat him, an item Master Skills
will be awarded. This will not be easy. During certain battles,
intruders and challengers will appear. Win the Cell games. Note: If you have the great ape, use him.
When he gets hit by a finishing move or super finishing move,
he does not take a lot of damage.


Hint: Defeating Great Ape Vegeta:
An easy way to defeat Great Ape Vegeta in the Battle
Gate is to start by using Kamehameha. Then, press L2 +
R1 to fly up. When he goes up, press L2 + R2
to go down. Keep repeating this until time is up.


Hint: Defeating the Oozaru:
In the first Oozaru mission (Saiyan Saga), you are
supposed to survive. However, if desired you can actually win.
Rush toward it, then press Attack(3), X to stun
it momentarily. Repeat this as needed. You will not only survive,
but will defeat the Oozaru.


Hint: Defeating practice fighter:
In Practice mode, choose any character then select
someone else the practice fighter cannot be (Broly, Bojack, Great
Ape, Great Ape Vegeta, Super Trunks Super Saiyan, or Frieza Final
Form Full Power). This trick requires patience. Attack three times
then press X to stun the practice fighter. The best way
to do so is to attack then press X. Then, immediately attack
three more times then press X. Repeat this for awhile then
use your finishing move. This will bring him down to 0 HP and
will knock him back.


Hint: Finding Dragonballs:
Dragonballs are found within mountains and islands
during Battle Gate fights. You must destroy them by dashing through
them or knocking your opponent through it. You must then descend
to the ball and "walk" into it; you must also win the
fight.


Hint: Easy Dragonballs:
Fight any level in Z Battle Gate at Kami's Lookout.
For example, play as Krillin vs Yamcha. When you get the chance,
go over to the Main Building and put it between you and the enemy.
When you fire your finishing move, you will destroy the building.
At this point go over and look at the ruins. There will be a column
stump remaining in the middle, and a Dragonball on top of it.
It does roll off -- if it is not on top, then it is somewhere
on the ground. Quickly grab it and make sure you defeat your opponent,
or you will have to get the Dragonball all over again. All seven
Dragonballs will appear one at a time at this location randomly.
Just fight in the level seven times to get a wish from Shenron.
This is very useful, as every time you get a Dragonball and complete
the level, you will also get another Z item Fusion, which are
valuable, and a random Z item. Do this as many times as desired.
In story mode, select the Buu Saga and look for the level that
takes place on top of Kami's lookout. (SSJ3 Goten vs. Super Buu).
During the fight, destroy the main building on top of Kami's tower.
There will be a Dragonball amongst the rubble every time. Repeat
this as many times as desired. Note: You must successfully complete
the challenge each time in order to receive the Dragonball at
the end of the match (for example, finishing off Super Buu with
the Volleyball attack). Go to the fight with Chiaotzu vs. Guldo. Burst through the few
islands in the stage and locate the Dragonball by using your radar.
Then, defeat Guldo. He is not much of a challenge. Repeat this
to get all the Dragonballs. Go to the Saiyan Saga and get to the part were you must defeat
Krillan with Yamcha or vice versa. Go to the building in the middle
of the look out (the biggest one). Destroy it and get the Dragonball
there. Defeat the enemy and you will get the Dragonball at the
end. Do this seven times (always a different Dragonball) to get
all of them. When fighting Super Buu in Buu Saga with SSJ3 Gotenks, the Dragonball
is inside of the lookout house. Get the Dragon Ball and defeat
Buu with the super move. Repeat this until you have all seven
Dragonballs and make a wish. Keep doing this and you will unlock
everything that requires a wish to obtain. Go to Sayain Saga and Krillin Vs. Yamcha. Blow up the big building
and get the Dragonball. Win, then repeat this a total of seven
times. Go to the level where Krillin fights Yamcha or vice versa. At
the very beginning, Dragon Dash towards the main building (the
big one), which is usually on your right. Then, go back to the
ruins and find the Dragonball. This is very useful, because if
your opponent starts with a finishing move you will dodge it.
Make sure you defeat the enemy or you will have to do it all over
again. Start by going to the Z Battle Gate. Select a level. Play as Krillin
vs. Yamcha. Fight for a little bit. Do this fast, as there is
a time limit. Use the Kahmehameha to knock Yamcha down a few times.
Do not do this more than three times or you will defeat him before
you collect the Dragonball. Press L1 to untarget him. Fly
and hide behind the main building. He will chase you and the building
will get destroyed. You will automatically target him. Knock him
down, untarget him, get the Dragonball and finish him off. This
process also works for the level SSJ 3 Gotenks vs. Super Buu.
Go to the Cell Saga and get to the fight with Gohan and Cell.
Destroy all hills until you find a Dragonball. Then, defeat Cell.
Keep using Masenko and he will die very quickly. Note: You only
have two minutes to do this. You can do this is as many times
as desired.


Hint: Easy wins:
To win easily if you are not a very good player, just
press Square then X. You will punch, then deliver
a heavy blow leaving your opponent defenseless for a short time.
Note: Sometimes very good fighters, for example Android #15 or
#12 in Ultimate Battle mode, will break this combo. If your character
is fast enough (try increasing the speed stat on your character's
Evolution Z to help) and your opponent is a big charter that will
not be affected by normal punches and kicks or normal Ki blasts,
you can land up to one attack from your character's full combo
ability (the maximum is about five) then press X. This
could get you 99 hits if you are skilled enough. It will not count
any more after that, but the damage will still be rising. When you first start the battle, rush in and knock your opponent
far away by using a smash attack or by throwing them. Then, use
your L2 + Triangle attack, but make sure it is a
Ki Blast. Your opponent should get knocked down. This should give
you enough time to charge up your Ki. Press L2 + Triangle
again then charge up your Ki once more. Keep doing this until
they are defeated. This works especially well when you fight Broly
with Goku, or Bojack with Gohan. Select a character who can shoot more than five Kai blasts and
has a beam attack other than a thin one such as death beam (it
is harder to make contact with it). Perfect Cell's perfect form
woks best because his blast follows a straight line. At beginning
of match, charge up. If your opponent is in front of you, lock
on then charge up. Send Kai attacks at your opponent while you
are at a reasonable distance. If you miss, this will give you
time to dodge. Make sure that one hits. Before the last two or
three, make contact and use your special attack. If they try to
run, block or deflect the Kai blast. Keep them in place while
your special connects. Then, charge up and repeat. Also, most
opponent's special attacks are dispelled by the beam, such as
the Destructo Disk and Energy Ball. For an easy win at the Cell Games, use SSJ Goku or SSJ2 Gohan.
Their attacks are very powerful and do not take long to charge.
Use the following trick to defeat Broly, Brojack, Andriod 16,
and Great Apes. Lock on and hit them with an energy blast. Then,
dash toward them and press Square + X or Square
+ Triangle. They will become immobilized for awhile. Use
a combination of blast and attacks for experts. Press Square just enough times so that you have one hit
remaining in your combo, then press X. This will deal a
knockback blow to your opponent. Do this as many times as desired.
If you have enough Ki when you do this, hold Square immediately
after you press X. This will charge your hit meter. Once
it is full, it will send your opponent flying back. Immediately
after you send your opponent flying back, use a finishing move,
such as the Kame Wave. You will hit your opponent while he is
flying back. Note: Your opponent can teleport while he is flying
backwards if he is a high enough difficulty.


Hint: Easy World Tournament wins:
Choose a character with high speed dash or a move that
works similar to it. At the start of a tournament fight, dash
toward the opponent, attack and few times, and knock them back.
When they are near the edge of the ring, do high speed dash. As
soon as you finish the attack, hit them with Ki blasts. Their
feet will instantly touch the ground allowing you to win easily.
Use Chiaotzu. Rush at your opponent, then do four regular attacks
followed by four Ki attacks. If this is done fast enough, your
opponent will just fall off the stage and none of your health
will be gone. Choose a custom fighter with high starting Ki, such as Janemba
(78000/50000). At the start, use Janemba's Mouth Blast and dash
at the opponent. Hit him, and he will slide out.


Hint: Easy survival battles:
Use the following trick during a match that you must
survive for the time given. Usually at the beginning of the match,
dodge left or right to avoid their first attack. Immediately counter
with a blast attack (large energy ball) which knocks them down.
With correct timing, you can continuously send blast after blast
at them so that when they get up, they go back down. If you run
low on energy, charge very briefly as the CPU tends to get up
quickly. To have a very easy win on all survive until time runs out battles
(except for the Oozaru as Goku in the Saiyan Saga), continuously
use this technique. Keep pressing Square one to five times,
X, Square, one to five times again, but this time
Triangle. In the Majin Buu saga, when you have to face Kid Buu with SS3
Goku, SS2 Vegeta, Hercule and Majin Buu (Good) and survive in
all four battles try this. Set the game difficulty to "Easy"
and the COM level to "Very Weak". Start the battle by
blocking the first attack Kid Buu does. When he lets his guard
down, do a five hit combo then dash towards him and press Square
to stun him. Repeat this. When your Ki bar is full, do a five
hit combo and do any Big Ki blast you have. Repeat this until
you win. Note: Try not to kill Kid Buu. Also, this may not work
with Hercule. Never do two Ki Blasts in a row, as this will give
Kid Buu the chance to hit you with a Super Kamehameha and you
can die.


Hint: Strong combo:
This trick only works on weaker enemies. First do four
normal attacks, then do a stun with dash and repeat. If done correctly
it can result in a 75 or greater combo. With any character, you can do this attack. Start with a combo,
for example Square(4), X, Square(4), then
finish by holding Up (recommended), Left, or Right.
Once you send them flying, press X to quickly Dragon Rush
towards him or her. Once your next to your opponent, quickly hold
Left, Right, or Down (recommended, as it
will cause the crash down to the ground and cause more damage)+
Square . this can be useful if you start by hitting them
up and end with hitting them down, because it will usually result
in a ring out. Note: This takes some time and will not work as
well in Ultimate Battle, 100 Rank Up, or Cell Game tournaments,
as the opponents are more difficult. Also, it is difficult to
impossible to do on Oozaru (great ape). Use the following trick to use a High Power Blast Rush. First,
hit your enemy with punches. Hit him about five times then press
X. Your enemy will be paralyzed for while Then, hit him
with same moves again, but do not hit him with X. Then,
hold Square while you press Up. The enemy will be
thrown away. Press X and fly after him. Hold Square
while holding Down and you will punch him very hard on
ground. After doing this, execute Ka-me-ha-me-ha!!!, or another
long range finisher.


Hint: Goku: Using Spirit Bomb on Kaioken:

In battle, wait for all three favorite technique balls
to appear, Then charge to maximum power and hit the controls to
turn Kaioken right after using the controls for Goku's Spirit
Bomb attack.


Hint: SS4 Goku: Combo:
When playing as Super Saiyan 4 Goku, instead of using
just 10x Kamehameha use the following combo. First, make sure
you have three favorite techniques bars full. Next, increase to
maximum power and have three favorite technique bars full. When
you are at maximum power, find a good time to attack your opponent
(for example, when they run away to charge or when they are close
to you). Use Instantaneous Transmission (L2 + Circle)
to warp behind your opponent. As soon as you are behind your opponent,
press L2 + Down + Circle to use 10x Kamehameha
to hit your opponent from behind. This attack is not stronger
than the regular 10x Kamehameha, but it is harder for your opponent
to dodge.


Hint: Ultimate Gohan: Strong character:

Equip Ultimate Gohan with Speed +6 and Attack +6. If
you are fighting a smaller character such as Krillan or Goten,
a full 7-hit combo does about 3,600 damage. However if you are
fighting someone very tough such as Bojack, Broly or Cooler, because
of the fact they are so tough, the damage resets. You will do
about 2,600 damage. Also, if you press Square about four
times, X, then Square a few more times, the attack
damage will almost triple Gohan Ultimate's regular 7-hit combo
damage. The regular finishing move does 15,500 damage and his
ultimate attack does 245,000 damage.

Hint: Level up:
Kill Kid Buu in story mode with Goku to get a level
up.


Hint: Super KameKameha comment:
When using Super Saiyan Goten and you use Super Kamehameha,

whatever you want to call it. Get two high powered characters
and make them fly up as high as they can in the air and spread
apart. Hold Triangle and release. This will make a huge
ball of energy shoot out towards the player you are targeting.
If you have good timing, as soon as the Ki blast is about to hit,
tap Circle. If you are both targeting each other. the blast
will shoot back at the first character. Try practicing this to
have yourself a game of tennis (or another game where you hit
a ball).


Hint: Stupid fights:
Go to duel mode at the main menu . Select "COM.
vs. COM". Note: You will need the Great Ape for this. It
can be the lower class or Vegeta style. Select the Great Ape then
select Broly. Choose the World Tournament. Watch the fight and
the outcome will surpass you. Broly may not win every time, but
he will not lose all the time. Chances are, Broly will win about
half the time. Another stupid fight is the Great Ape vs. Kid Gohan
in the city arena.


Glitch: High Speed Rush and Afterimage:

Enter duel or practice (recommended) mode and fight
against someone who has the "High Speed Rush" attack.
Play as someone who has the Afterimage ability. First, hit your
opponent very far, then execute the Afterimage (L2 + Circle).
Wait for your opponent to do the High Speed Rush attack. While
he or she is going in your direction to complete the attack, do
a Dragon Dash towards your opponent (L2 + X). You
would expect the fast punching that would normally happen, but
instead, you will not be punching and kicking. However, your opponent
will be doing so. Because the Afterimage did not occur yet, this
will happen once both of you connect. You can fly away and shoot
Ki energy at him or her, but hitting them with a finishing move,
charging up to full power, or just punching them can cause them
to stop.


Glitch:-Rush attacks do not affect Great
Ape:
If you use a rush attack (for example, High Power Rush,
etc.) you will be knocked back as if he smashed you, but you will
not receive damage.


Glitch: Dodoria almost disappears:
Unlock Kid Goku by getting all seven Dragon Balls and
wishing for him from Shenron. Then go to Ultimate Battle and use
him. Fight your way up to Dodoria. During the fight use counterattack
(L2, Up, Triangle). You will barely be able
to see Dodoria.


Glitch: Wrong voices:
When Goku SSJ4 and Vegeta SSJ4 fight, if Goku wins
he speak in Japanese instead of English at the end of the match. When fighting Super Saiyan Trunks (with the tied back hair) and
he executes a Finish Buster, he says it in Japanese, similar to
Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Battle 22. When using Long Haired Trunks, do his Burning Attack move. His
voice changes to Japanese. Make sure you have SS4 Goku and SS4 Vegeta. Go to duel and play
as SS4 Vegeta. Lose the fight and Goku will speak in Japanese.
Note: This might not occur at first. In COM vs. COM mode, if SSJ4 Goku fights and wins against SSJ4
Vegeta he will speak in Japanese after the battle, even if the
Japanese voices are turned off. Play as Goku (normal) and use the Kamehameha move on anyone. Listen
carefully to notice that he actually pronounces it as "Kamehamedyha".



Glitch: Wrong name:
When you fight with Master Roshi in tournament mode,
the tournament announcer instead calls him "Contestant Turtle
Hermit". When fighting with Tien in any mode, use Ki Blast cannon. When
you do so, instead of saying "Ki Blast Cannon!", Tien
says:"Tri-Beam!", which is his super finishing move's
name.


Glitch: Wrong subtitle:
In Z Battle Gate, on the Super 17 gate when you defeat
him, he says "I should have been able to absorb all that".
However, the subtitle reads "I shouldn't have been able to
absorb all that". Fight Nappa as Chaoutzu and kill him without using Farewell Mr.
Tien! Nappa will say "You almost gave me a scare", but
the subtitles read " Kch...That was a lousy thing to do".
During the fight with Majin Vegeta vs. Majin Buu, after winning
the fight Majin Vegeta says "Farewell Trunks, Bulma, and
even you Kakarot", but the subtitle reads "Farewell
Trunks, Bulma, and Kakarot".


Glitch: Misspelling:
When in the Cell games, if you win any round as Mecha
Freiza it will instead read "Mehca Freiza".



Choose Vegito in The World Tournament. After you win a fight the
announcer will say "and the victor Vegito", however
in the subtitles "Vegito" is spelled "Veggeto".
