Hint: Play as Lu Bu:
On Hu Loa Gate, get over 1000 KOs and defeat Lu Bu.
This can only be done while on the Allied forces. An easier way to get over 1000 KOs on Hu Lao Gate is play on the
easy difficulty setting, then pay attention to the enemy gates.
If you see a lot of enemy units pouring out, make sure to put
your bodyguards on defense then stay near the gate opening. KO
the enemies as they appear. Try not to KO the Gate Captain or
no more units will appear. This is especially critical around
the three gates in Dong Zhuo's fortress where you can accumulate
over 450 KOs.


Hint: Play as Fu Xi:
Clear Musou mode with Liu Bei, Cao Cao, and Sun Jian.



Hint: Play as Meng Ho:
Play the Nanman campaign under the easy difficulty
setting. When you fight Men Ho for the fifth time (where you have
to break down the wall to get to him), stay where you defeated
him. He should appear where you fought him the first time. Defeat
him once more to unlock Meng Ho as a selectable character.


Hint: Play as Nu Wa:
Clear Musou mode with Sun Shang Xiang, Xiao Qiao, Da
Qiao, and Zhen Ji.


Hint Art Of War Scroll special item:
Play The Siege Of Hei Fei Castle as the Blue forces.
Defeat all generals except Sun Quan and the special item message
will appear. Go to the big boat that Sun Quan is on to receive
the Art of War Scroll. It doubles the time of the effect of the
Defense and Attack times two for thirty seconds and Musou full
for ten seconds.


Hint: Black Shadow special item:
Play Huang Gai under the hard difficulty setting at
the battle of Chi Bi for Allied forces. Follow orders to execute
the fire attack against the Wei (Cao Cao's) forces. Defeat Zhang
Liao (and possibly some other generals as well) before defeating
Cao Cao. A "Special Item" should be found near the place
of prayer at the southwestern end of the map. The Shadow Rod is
a +44 attack weapon with 6 hits. It also adds +27 Musou Charge,
+82 HP Max, +57 Defense, +52 Mounted Attack, and +23 Reach.


Hint: Bodyguard Manual special item:
At the Siege Of He Fei Castle level, go to where Xhu
Zhu is located. Defeat him on the bridge and the "Special
Item Discovered" message will appear. Then, go to the north
and turn left out of the "room" the bridge is in. If
you run into a broken bridge with a group of bowmen on the other
side, then you have gone too far. Note: The Musou +10 is in the
room with the bowmen. Turn right up the long, thin passage that
leads north. The item is in a box where the passage dead ends.
This is directly outside the closed door that leads back to where
the bowmen are located. Then, defeat Sima Yi to keep the item.



Hint: Buckler special item:
This item prevents you from be overpowered while blocking.
Play the He Fie level as the Wu side. Allow Taishi Ci to get killed
in the arrow attack, then retreat with Sun Quan to the lower right
corner of the level, to the broken bridge. You will jump over
the bridge with Sun Quan. About five minutes later, Zhang Liao
will attack Sun Quan. Defeat Zhang Liao and he will drop the item.
This item is very useful when blocking, especially when fighting
against Lu Bu.


Hint: Cao Cao's special item:
Play the Yellow Turban level, on the Han side. You
must defeat Zhang Bao and Zhang Liang, in that order, without
any gates being lost. Once you have done this, a supply team will
appear on the northwest enemy entry point and will make its way
to the entry point on the top center of the screen. Kill the supply
captain to get the Cao Cao's fourth weapon, Wrath Of Heaven. This
weapon is well worth the work. His sixth attack has a purple haze
around it and will kill anyone on contact except a Boss.


Hint: Dian Wei's special item:
Play the Battle At Wan Castle level as Dian Wei under
the hard difficulty setting . Defeat general Hu Che Er. A supply
captain will appear in the south. Defeat him to get Dian Wei's
fourth weapon, which as HP +84, Attack +27, and Musou Charge +28.



Hint: Defender special item:
In the Battle of Wu Zhang Plains under the hard difficulty
setting as the Wei force, find a place where an intermission sequence
starts and you see shooting stars. A special item message should
appear for the Defender. This is almost impossible to obtain with
one person. Both of your characters should be at full stats with
their fourth weapon. This item will have your character's Defense
x2 when near death.
Hint: Diao Chan's special item:
Play the Battle of Hu Lao Gate under the hard difficulty
setting as Dong Zhuo's forces. Kill Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, and Liu
Bei. Note: Liu Bei must be the last one to be killed. The special
item should be close to the East Gate. To unlock Diao Chan's fourth weapon, kill Yuan Shu. It will appear
near Sun Jian's unit.

Hint: Diao Qiao's special item:
At the Battle of You Ting, kill Zhang He. Her fourth
weapon can now be found in the top left corner near the far left
Gate.

Hint: Dong Zhuo's special item:
Play Dong Zhuo in Battle of Hu Lao Gate as Dong Zhuo's
forces under the hard difficulty setting. First, destroy Liu Bei's
army by killing Liu Bei himself. It is not necessary to kill Guan
Yu and Zhang Fei. Dong Zhuo will tell Diao Chan to go to the front
lines. Wait for Diao Chan to defect. It may take a while. After
she defects, quickly kill her before Lu Bu does. The special item
message for Dong Zhuo's fourth weapon should appear in the center
of the map. Select Dong Zhuo and his forces for the Battle Of Hu Lao Gate.
Wait five to ten minutes until Dong Zhuo says "Diao Chan,
go to the front". When Hua Xiong dies, Diao Chan will defect.
Quickly kill her before Lu Bu does. The special item message for
Dong Zhuo's fourth weapon should appear at the bottom of the map.
Note: This will not work if your bodyguards kill Diao Chan.


Hint: Fire Arrow special item:
Play the Battle Of Chi Bi level under any difficulty
setting. Ride or run as fast as you can to Zhou Yu and kill him.
This must be done before the fire attack starts. A special item
message will appear. The item can be found where you usually kill
Xiahou Dun/Huang Gai's destination point. Play the Battle of Chi Bi level as Cao Cao's forces. Defeat Huang
Gai before he completes his fire attack. Then, attack and kill
Zhao Yu. When he has been defeated, a special item will appear
where you defeated Huang Gai. It engulfs your arrows in flame,
which continues to damage an enemy when they are hit.


Hint: Fu Xi's special item:
At the Surprise Attack On Liu Biao level, play as Liu
Biao's forces under the hard difficulty setting with Fu Xi. Kill
Cheng Pu, Han Dang, and Huang Gai. Fu Xi's fourth weapon may now
be found on the left side of the map.


Hint: Gan Ning:
At the Battle Of He Fei level, defeat 480 soldiers
before Gan Ning launches his surprise attack. After you do, go
to where Gan Ning is fighting and defeat him. You may also get
a special item called the Power Scroll.


Hint: Gan Ning's special item:
Play the Battle At He Fei level as Gan Ning under the
hard difficulty setting. Let Taishi Ci die from Zhang Liao's attack.
Once he dies, a supply unit will appear near Cao Cao (when the
level begins). Start going all the way up to where Cao Cao is
located. When the supply unit appears, he will immediately retreat.



Hint: Gold Harness special item:
This is probably the hardest item to obtain in the
game: Make sure you are playing on the easy difficulty setting.
Kill Pang Dai and Ma Dai. Make Han Sui defect. Han Sui's defection
is based on morale, not time. Your morale on Cao Cao's team has
to be higher then Ma Chao's. After the morale drop he will defect
sometime during the next two minutes. Protect Han Sui. If you
are not careful, he will die before he has the chance to defect.
Once he does defect, kill everyone except Ma Chao. After a little
while he will retreat behind Tong Gate. After a very long period
of time, the supply team will appear. It does take a long time,
so be careful and the sooner you accomplish the other tasks the
better. Han Sui's defection is not based on time or morale. He must get
close to Cao Cao. It is recommend that you use Cao Cao on this
level. Some "tasks" must be completed first. First,
kill Ma Dai and Pang Dai. Then, wait for Han Sui to come out of
Tong Gate and then approach, but do not attack him. The defection
sequence/negotiations will begin in a few moments. Note: Han Sui
will only defect if Ma Chao is behind Tong Gate. After Han Sui
defects, defeat all other generals and wait for Ma Chao to retreat
behind Tong Gate. After a few minutes, a supply unit will appear.
Kill the supply captain to get the Golden Harness.


Hint: Guan Yu's special item:
Play the Guan Yu's Escape level as Guan Yu's forces
under hard difficulty setting. Kill Zhang He, Zhen Ji, and Xu
Huang. A supply unit will appear. Ride (or run) as fast as you
can to where Xu Zhu is located. On the way you should meet a supply
unit. Kill the supply captain and he will drop Guan Yu's Blue
Moon Dragon. The supply unit will leave in a short time, so move
quickly.


Hint: Huang Gai's special item:
Note: You do not have to wait for the fire attack to
unlock Huang Gai's fourth weapon. Just kill Zhang Liao and it
will appear in a box near the place of prayer.


Hint: Huang Zhong's special item:
Play as Huang Zhong (Shu Forces) at the Mt. Ding Jun
level under the hard difficulty setting. Defeat Xiahou Shang and
the special item message will appear. The weapon is in a box to
the west of Cao Cao's original position.


Hint: Hex Mark Saddle special item:
Play the Assault On Cheng Du level. Kill every officer
except for Liu Zhang. A special item report will occur to the
northwest of the map. Get the item and equip it. The Hex Mark
is Liu Bei's horse.


Hint: Imperial Saddle special item:
At the Battle Of Yi Ling level as Shu forces, stop
Lu Xun's fire attack and kill Lu Xun. Then, you must kill Gan
Ning, Lu Meng (may be optional), and Sun Shang Xiang. Start with
Sun Shang Xiang because she is a long way from where you need
to be; Gan Ning is closer. Then, a Supply Unit will appear near
the northern-most Wu gate (near Sun Quan). Kill the Supply Captain
to get the Imperial Saddle. This item allows the riding of any
horse. Note: If you do not get there quickly, the Supply Captain
either disappears or one of your allies will kill him. To help get the Imperial Saddle, kill Zhu Ran to stop the fire
attack, then go after Lu Xun. More times than not if you go after
Lu Xun, the attack will happen if your character is not strong
enough.


Hint: Jiang Wei's special item:
Play at Jie Ting, under the hard difficulty setting
and kill Cao Zhen and Zhen Ji. A supply team should show up near
the gate to the northeast of Sima Yi.


Hint: Lu Bu's special item:
Play the Battle AT Hu Lao Gate level under the hard
difficulty setting. Defeat Zhang Fei, Guan Yu, Lui Bei, and Gong
Dzan. A supply team will appear near the mid-north gate. Quickly
kill the Supply Captain and he will have Lu Bu's fourth weapon,
the Sky Scorcher. It has Lightning property and has an electrically
charged fouth and fifth hit when you hit them to the ground, and
a sixth hit. Play the Battle At Hu Lao Gate level as Dong Zhou's forces under
the hard difficulty setting. Go up towards the east gate and kill
Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, then kill Lui Bei. If you kill Lui Bei first,
this will not work. After they are defeated, go straight up towards
the Gate Captain, go left, and the Supply Captain will be there.
Kill him to get his fourth weapon.


Hint: Lu Xun's special item:
Play the Battle of Yi Ling as the Wu force under the
hard difficulty setting. Protect Zhu Ran from the attacking enemies
in the path near the Stone Warrior Maze, then wait for the fire
attack and kill Zhuge Liang. It helps to have two players, as
Lu Xun is all the way in one corner of the map. It will appear
in the maze trap. Guide yourself around by pressing Start.
The Falcon should be located in the northeast area of the stone
warrior formation. It has Speed +22, Musuo Max +73, Defense +43,
Reach +29 and an instant death attack.


Hint: Lui Bei's special item:
Play the Battle Of Yi Ling as Lui Bei under the hard
difficulty setting. You will find it at the top right of the radar
awhile into the game. Lui Bei's fourth weapon is the Gold Moon
Dragon.


Play the Battle Of Yi Ling under the hard difficulty setting with
Lui Bei and with the Shu side. Kill Sun Shang Xiang, and after
about ten seconds the "Special item" message will appear.
It is a little bit further forward from Sun Quan.


Hint: Lu Meng's special item:
Play the Battle At Fan Castle under the hard difficulty
setting. Wait until the water rises then defeat Guan Ping. A special
message item will appear. Lu Meng's fourth weapon will be in a
box near Sima Yi (not on the castle but on the ground).


Hint: Lu Xun's special item:
Play as Lu Xun at the Yi Ling level under the hard
difficulty setting . Kill Wei Yan as soon as possible to make
his army retreat. When the intermission sequence of you saying
that Zhuge Liang is not here plays, your officer will begin to
make his fire attack. Look at message history for the exact location.
Make sure that he sets the camp alight by killing any resistance,
then kill off everything in the Stone Maze Trap, kill Zhuge Liang,
and a special item can be found to the northeast of the Stone
Maze Trap. Get it and complete the level. This weapon adds Speed
+22, Musou Gage +75, Defense +43, and Radius +29.

Hint: Ma Chao's special item:
Play as Ma Chao under the hard difficulty setting in
the Tong Gate level. Ma Chao is the main general. They must kill
General Han Sui, but he is on your side. First, you must kill
Cao Ren and Cao Hong. Then, wait for Xu Huang to bring his army.
Watch Cao Cao and make sure he moves away from Xaihou Yuan. Then,
kill Xiahou Yuan. Wait for Cao Cao to move further up the field.
Walk across the bridge and go towards Cao Cao. Do not attack his
men or him. He should walk across the bridge to the field. Cao
Cao will then talk to Han Sui. Wait about five minutes and do
anything except attack Cao Cao. Han Sui should defect after awhile.
Make sure you have Hex Mark or Red Hare -- when you kill Han Sui
you must run to the gate on the top right corner of the screen.
A supply unit will appear and try to retreat to there. Kill the
supply unit and you will get Ma Chao's fourth weapon, which gives
Jump +21, Mounted Attack +60, Mounted Defense +60, and Reach+21.



Hint: Meng Huo's special item (Nanman forces):

In the Nanman Campaign under the hard difficulty setting,
defeat the eastern generals. A special item message will appear
in the middle of the level. Go to it and you will find Meng Huo's
fourth weapon. It adds +27 Attack, +54 Mounted Attack, and +54
Mounted Defense.


Hint: Nu Wa's special item:
To obtain Nu Wa's fourth weapon, play the Battle At
Wan Castle level and kill Dian Wei. A special item message will
appear.


Hint: Pang Tong's special item:
Play as Pang Tong under the hard difficulty setting
in the Cheng Du level. You must kill all the officers in the bottom
part of the map that try to ambush you. The weapon will appear
near Liu Zhang. Play the Assault on Cheng Du level under the hard difficulty setting.
After Pang Tong is surrounded by Zhang Ren, you must kill Zhang
Ren. The special item message will appear. The weapon is in a
box in the northwest of the map.


Hint: Power Scroll special item:
At the battle of He Fei, defeat Gan Ning to get the
Power Scroll. This item makes the deadlock a tie in which yours
and your enemy's weapons are push upwards.


Hint: Red Hare special item:
On Hu Loa Gate, once you defeat Lu Bu a supply unit
will appear (usually to the north). Defeat the supply captain
and you will get a secret item. Equip the item to use it on any
level. Note: It is recommended that you have Lu Bu unlocked for this
strategy. Select two player mode and The Battle of Hu Lao Gate
level. Have Lu Bu as player one if he is your weaker character,
or as player two if he is your stronger character. Move player
one through the small canyon that leads up to behind the Fan Shui
Gate. Fight your way through it until you reach the corner of
the small canyon (i.e. where it turns to go further in). Stop
at the corner (or fight your way only a slightly further in so
you can be safe, but always move back to that corner), Then, use
player two to defeat Lu Bu. A supply unit should eventually appear
directly next to player one in that small canyon. Run forwards,
deeper into the canyon, until you find the Supply Unit and its
Supply Captain. Kill the Supply Captain then pick up the item
he drops. Next, move player one into an extremely safe location
then proceed to defeat Dong Zhuo eventually with your stronger,
more powerful character in the player two slot. Make sure you
are playing on the easy difficulty setting, and that your weaker
character is in the player one slot. The game's difficulty is
based on the strength of player one's character. On the Yellow Turban Rebellion, play on the Yellow Turbans side
first. Go to the Han gate, at the very northeast part of the map.
When there, defeat all opposing privates and Gate Captains yourself.
When done, go north to the very northeast part of the map and
stop in the corner. There should be either a box or a pot to smash
open for an item. Note: This only works if you destroy all the
privates and captains next to the gate. This special item is a
Red Hare horse to use in all of the levels. You always will start
out on a Red Hare. This special horse can run over anyone in the
game, even high ranking generals. Play as the allied forces under the normal difficulty setting.
Kill Lu Bu as quickly as possible. A supply unit should appear
around the mid north of the map. If you do not get there in time,
it will disappear, or your allies will have killed it. When playing the Hu Loa Gate scenario with any character, never
face Lu Bu alone on single player mode. Play with two players.
By doing this, both players can defeat him, making the level easier.
Also, the Red Hare Saddle will appear, which is a very powerful
horse to obtain.


Hint: Sima Yi's special item:
Play The Battle Of Wu Zhang Plain level under the hard
difficulty setting. Start off by killing Zhang Fei then travel
south to where Wei Yan is located. Destroy him and everyone around
that area. This is usually where you find the wooden ox, but they
will not appear there. Instead, move around that area and wait
for reinforcements. A supply team will appear. Kill them and a
special item will appear very close by. Open the box to get Sima
Yi's fourth weapon, the Dark Feather. It adds +28 Attack +50 Bow
Attack, +55 Mounted Attack, +29 Reach, +26 Musou Charge with the
electric attack.


Hint: Sky Scorcher special item:
Play as Lu Bu on Hu Lao Gate for Dong Zhuo's forces
(possibly under the hard difficulty setting). Defeat Cao Cao and
a supply unit will appear not far from where you defeat him. Defeat
the Supply Captain and pick up the weapon box, which will be Lu
Bu's Sky Scorcher. It is a 6 hits electrically charged weapon
with a 50 Attack, along with a +24 Jump, +90 Musuo Max, +90 HP
Max, +30 Attack, and a +60 Defense. At Hu Lao Gate as Lu Bu under Dong Zhuo under the hard difficulty
setting, defeat Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Liu Bei, and Gongsun Zhan.
There will be a message that a supply unit has appeared to the
northeast of the map. Defeat the Supply Captain and get the weapon
box with the Sky Scorcher.


Hint: Sun Ce's special item:
Play as Sun Ce under the hard difficulty setting in
the Attack In Wu Territory level. Sun Ce is the main general.
Go through the level normally until you get to the split, where
your army separates. Go left where Taishi Ci is located. Do not
fight him. Kill the main general to the left first, then the one
to the right. A special item, Sun Ce's fourth weapon, Overlord,
should appear next to Taishi Ci. It gives Speed +21, Jump +20,
Musou Max +80, and HP +72. Note: Sun Ce's fourth weapon appears when Taishi Ci surrenders.
Killing the two bottom generals may trigger it, but it may appear
after Taishi Ci surrendered as you go to attack the bottom left
corner general.


Hint: Sun Jian's special item:
Play as Sun Jian under the hard difficulty setting
in the Surprise Attack On Liu Buia level. You will start next
to a ship. Usually Sun Jian gets himself killed when playing with
Sun Ce or Huang Gai. Take Sun Jian to the valley to the right
of the screen, then kill Lu Gong. The special item message will
appear. Sun Jian's fourth weapon, Savage Wolf, can be found around
the beginning of the valley.


Hint: Sun Quan's special item:
Play as Sun Quan under the hard difficulty setting
on The Seige Of He Fe Castle level. Locate and kill Zhang He.
A special item message will appear, revealing the location of
Sun Quan's fourth weapon, the Master Wolf. The weapon should be
located to the right of the pond in the middle of the castle.



Hint: Sun Shang Xiang's special item:
Play the You Ting level under the hard difficulty setting.
Defeat Coa Xiu and his forth weapon can be found near Coa Xui's
intial position.


Hint: Survival Guide special item:
In the Battle of Wu Zhang Plains under the hard difficulty
setting as the Shu force, find a place where an intermission sequence
starts and you see shooting stars. Note: This may take awhile,
and may happen when Zhang Fei dies. A special item message should
appear for the Survival Guide. This item will have your character's
Attack x2 for thirty seconds when near death.


Hint: Taishi Ci's special item:
Play the Assault On Wu Territory level as the allied
forces (not Sun Ce's). This is the battle where Sun Ce normally
gets Taishi Ci to join Wu. As Taishi Ci, defeat all the generals
except Sun Ce. His fourth weapon should appear at the top of the
screen.


Hint: Way Of The Musou special item:
Select Guan Yu and play the Guan Yu's Escape level.
Play through the level as usual and kill Xiahou Dun before Liu
Bei comes to rescue you. Xiahou Dun will drop the Way Of The Musou
item, which lets you use the True Musou attack at any time regardless
of your health.


Hint: Wei Yan's special item (Shu forces):

In Battle Of Jie Ting, play as Wei Yan under the hard
difficulty setting. Wait for Zhang He to say "A downhill
charge....like falling blossoms...my people lets dance around
them!". Then, kill Zhang He and the rest of the generals.
You have to be sure to kill Zhang He's Sub-Generals also, before
they run away. Enter the enemy headquarters and after a long period
of time, the special item message should appear. Go to where Zhang
He was fought in the middle area to find Wei Yan's fourth weapon.
It adds +23 Jump, +24 Attack, +56 Defense and +22 Reach. Use the
fourth Triangle attack (where he hits them in the air)
for a one hit kill to anyone except generals, even in hard mode.
Play the Jie Ting level under the hard difficulty setting. Wait
for Ma Su to move up the hill on his own. The enemy will ambush
Ma Su. Rescue Ma Su and defeat all the other generals besides
Sima Yi. Then, enter Sima Yi's camp. The special item message
will appear. The weapon is in a box on top of the hill where Ma
Su advances.


Hint: Wind Scroll special item:
Go to the Battle At Chi Bi level as Zhuge Liang. Go
through the level as usual and try to defeat all the generals.
As you defeat Cao Cao, you will get this item no matter what.
The Wind Scroll increases your reach.

Hint: Xiahou Dun's special item (Cao-Cao's
forces):
In Guan Yu's Escape under the hard difficulty setting,
defeat all the generals with Xiahou Dun. A special item message
will appear. Go to it to find Xiahou Duns fourth weapon. It adds
+26 Attack, +60 Bow Defense, +56 Mounted Defense , and +24 Reach.
Note: You do not actually have to kill the generals with Xiahou
Dun to unlock the weapon. Just kill all of the generals up to
Guan Ping with anyone and it will appear, unless your Xiahou Dun
character is very strong.


Hint: Xiahou Yuan's special item:
Go to Mnt Ding Jun and select Xiahou Yuan under the
hard difficulty setting. Wait for Huang Zong to shoot the arrow,
then kill him. A special item will appear in the middle of the
battlefield.


Hint: Xiao Qiao's special item:
Defeat Shyukuyuu (Zhu Rong). The fourth weapon can
now be found to the east of the bridge at the northwest part of
NanBan (Nan Man) map.


Hint: Xu Huang's special item:
Play Xu Huang in Battle at Fan Castle as Wei forces
under the hard difficulty setting. Go directly (quickly) to Guan
Ping (is in the southeast of the map or found in "info unit").
Quickly kill Guan Ping before the water rises. Xu Huang's fourth
weapon will be on the lowest part of the level; timing is important
in killing Guan Ping. Use Hex Mark or Red Hare to move faster.



Hint: Xu Zhu's special item:
Play the Battle At Tong Gate level under the hard difficulty
setting. Defeat Pang De and Ma Dai, then pass through Tong Gate.
A special item should appear southeast of Ma Chao's fort.


Hint: Yuan Shao's special item:
At the Battle Of Guan Du level, choose Yuan Shao and
go east. Kill Xu Zhu and his troops. Go west. Kill Liu Bei and
his troops. Go south. Kill Xiahou Dun and his troops. Go inside
Cao Cao's castle, and kill everybody except Cao Cao and his guards.
Have your bodyguards on crossbow and shoot Cao Cao's guards to
death. After that, attack Cao Cao with Guan Yu, Yuan Shu, and
one any other random general. Stand directly over Cao Cao when
you get him killed. When the mission ends, you will get Yuan Shao's
fourth weapon, the Shao Pride. It gives a Basic +90, Attack +20,
Mosou Max +80, Defense +90, and Life +95. It has 8 electrically
charged hits. Alternately, choose free mode and select the Battle At Guan Du
level under the hard difficulty setting. Kill most of the generals
outside the castle. A supply unit should appear towards the southeast.
Kill them and get the weapon. To unlock Yuan Shao's fourth weapon, you must keep Wen Chou alive
for ten minutes. Note: You will have to kill Guan Yu to do so.
The supply unit will then appear to the very southeast area of
the map.


Hint: Zhang Fei's special item:
Meet with enemies on the Chang Ban Bridge, Zhang Fei
shout event then defeat Xiahou Dun and Xiahou Yuan. The supply
team will appear at the entry point near Xu Zhu and towards the
northeast entry point. Kill the supply team and you will get Zhang
Fei's fourth weapon.

Hint: Zhang Jiao's special item:
Choose free mode, and choose Zhang Jiao. Play the Yellow
Turban Rebellion level as Zhang Jiao's forces under the hard difficulty
setting. Run to Sun Jian's forces first. Fight until an enemy
ambush appears. Zhang Jiao will say "Impudent fools."
Zhang Jiao's fourth weapon will appear at the top of He Jin's
castle. Near by the river will also be a Life +10. Note: You must kill all of Sun Jian's sub-officers as well as
him to get his weapon.


Hint: Zhang He's special item:
Play the Battle At Guan Du level under the hard difficulty
setting as Cao Cao's force. With both Yan Liang and When Chou
still alive, find and burn the Wu Chao supply depot. Shortly after
that, the special item will appear in the center of the map around
the bend of the central river.


Hint: Zhang Liao's special item:
Play the He Fei level (not He Fei Castle) under the
hard difficulty setting. Defeat Zhou Tai and the weapon box with
his fourth weapon will appear to the north of the broken bridge.



Hint: Zhao Yun's special item:
Play the The Battle of Chang Ban level, Liu Bei Force
scenario under the hard difficulty setting. Try to get a horse
early. Wait until the message "Cao Cao's main force has arrived"
appears. Go to the central area and fight with Liu Bei (near Xiahou
Yuan). You may get an intermission sequence of Zhao Yun defending
Liu Bei. Continue west and defeat Zhang He. Cut back to the east
bridge (near to where you started) to defeat Zhang Liao and Xiahou
Dun. If you actually fight enemy troops on the bridge, you may
get another intermission sequence of Zhao Yun standing off against
the enemy. After you defeat Zhang Liao, the supply unit with Zhao
Yun's fourth weapon will appear. The supply unit appears in the
west, near the gate where Zhang He originally was located. By
the time you reach the unit, it may have traveled slightly northeast
on the far north path. Zhao Yun's fourth weapon is the Fierce
Dragon. It adds Basic +43, Attack +25, Defense +52, HP +74, and
Musou Gauge +80. Fierce Dragon has a fire property. When you use it to do the 5-hit
combo to throw an enemy into the air, he or she burns until they
come back to its feet. As long as you continue to hit it with
5-hit combo and keep it in the air, it continue to drain out hit
points. This is especially useful when killing Boss generals. Play the Chang Ban level under the hard difficulty setting on
the Shu side. Kill Xiahou Dun and Zhang Liao. When Cao Cao's reinforcements
appear, Liu Bei will call for help. Go to him and an event will
happen. Kill Zhang He. A Supply Team should appear near the gate
near where Zhang He was located. They will start heading for a
gate in the northeast. The Supply Captain will have the item.



Hint: Zhen Ji's special item:
Play the Jie Ting level under the hard difficulty setting.
Defeat Jiang Wei and his fourth weapon can be found around Zhuge
Lian's camp.


Hint: Zhou Yu's special item:
Play as Sun Quan's forces at the battle of Chi Bi under
the hard difficulty setting. Wait for Zhuge Liang to blow the
winds then defeat Xiahou Dun and Zhang He. The special item message
will appear. Zhou Yu's fourth weapon can now be found in the center
of the ship.

Hint: Zhu Rong's special item (Nanman forces):

Play The Nanman Campaign level under the hard difficulty
setting. Chose the Nanman forces and use Zhu Rong. Let two of
the generals from your force retreat. When the morale is low,
Dong Tu Ne and Ahui Nan will say something like "We can do
no more" and "This battle will do us no good".
Once they are finished saying that, they will retreat. After they
retreat, the special item message for Zhu Rong's fourth weapon
will appear. Note: You can kill all of the generals except for Zhuge Liang
and just wait for fifteen minutes. Your morale will be very highm
but Dong Tu Ne and Ahui Nan will still leave and the item will
still appear.


Hint: Zhuge Liang's special item:
Play The Battle Of Wu Zhang Plain level under the hard
difficulty setting. Choose the Shu forces and use Zhuge Liang.
Let the first Wei reinforcement appear and kill Cao Xiu, who is
the main general for the reinforcement. After you done that, the
special item message will appear for Zhuge Liang's fourth weapon.
It adds Basic +40, Speed +22, Jump +22, Defense +55, Arrow Defense
+55, Mount Defense +55, and has a fire element.


Hint: Assault On Cheng Du: Surrender sequence:

Play as Liu Bei's forces. To get Liu Zhang to surrender,
kill all generals shown on the map. Immediately after, an intermission
of Liu Zhang surrendering Cheng Du to Liu Bei will start.

Hint: Assault On Cheng Du: Play as Liu
Zhang's forces:
Save Yuan Shu in the battle at Hu Loa Gate to play
as Liu Zhangs Forces in the Assault On Cheng Du level.


Hint: Assault On Liu Biao: Hidden items:

When playing as Sun Jian's forces, the Musuo +10 can
be found on the far left fort of the level, in between middle
and the farther tents on the left side. The Life +10 can be found
when you follow Sun Ce up the path to a small open area. There
will be three pots in a row there. The Life +10 is the pot on
the left.


Hint: Assault On Liu Biao: Easy weapons:

Play the level on Liu Biao's team. There should be
four weapons in boxes. You should be able to get three from generals
at the bottom of the map. Two of the boxes are located in the
castle, one in the middle and one in a corner. The other two can
be found on the way down to the shore if you take the winding
path in the middle of the map.


Hint: Attack On Wu Territory: Unlocking
Taishi Ci:
Play as Zhou Yu in Musou mode and kill the man on the
bottom right. An intermission sequence will start and Taishi Ci
will defect.


Hint: Battle Of Chi Bi: 8000 kills:
This trick requires a character with great stats and
his or her fourth weapon (Lu Bu recommended). On the easy difficulty
setting, choose the Battle Of Chi Bi. Choose Liu Bei forces. Kill
everyone except for Cao Cao. When you see the message "Wei
reinforcements have arrived", go to the two enemy gates at
the left of the map. Kill the officer, but do not kill the Gate
Captains. If done correctly, all your forces will be busy with
Cao Cao and will not bother the Gate Captains. Hack and slash
to your heart's content. The earlier you get everyone killed,
the more kills you can get. A good player may be able to get 9500
kills.


Hint: Battle Of Fan Castle: More kills:

This trick requires a very good character (preferably
Lu Bu), or someone with their fourth weapon. Go past all the enemies.
Do not stop until you get to the walls of the actual Fan Castle.
Go up the stairs, but do not fight Sima Yi. The people that followed
you will be there. Also, there is a gate on the wall. People will
keep coming until you either want to stop or you die. This is
a good way to get a person that is good, but does not have many
points.


Hint: Battle Of He Fei: Quick Musou and
health increase:
Play under any difficulty setting as Wei forces. In
the northwest corner of the map, there is a pot containing a Health
Max +10. In the northeast corner is a pot containing a Musou Max
+10. Get the items and complete the level. Repeat this as many
times as desired.


Hint: Battle Of He Fei: Get Zhang Liao
to ambush Wu leader:
Go to the central area with any Wei character (except
Zhang Liao) and fight near Zhang Liao until an intermission sequence
featuring your character and Zhag Liao running up behind saying
"I'm off to the next battle, I'm leaving the rest to you"
starts. Go away from him, and he will retreat and ambush the Wu
leader. Note: This must be done before he moves past the central
square. Also, this will cause Gan Ning to appear and ambush the
Wei leader.


Hint: Battle Of He Fei: Fire attack:
As Lu Xun on the Wei side, go to the southern square
past Lu Xun and Lu Meng into the square. You should see an intermission
sequence with your character and some soldiers in the square.
They will look up at Lu Xun, who is standing on a building with
some fire archers. He will say "at last, it's appeared...
Fire!", and he will order he troops to set fire to the square.
Your character will retreat and order everyone to go to the other
gates.


Hint: Battle Of Hu Lao Gate: Lu Bu's Defection:

Play the Battle of Hu Lao Gate level under any difficulty
setting. Wait for Dong Zhuo to send Diao Chan to the front line.
Then, wait for Diao Chan to die. After she has died, Lu Bu will
throw a fit and head toward Dong Zhuo. You must be on Dong Zhuo's
team for this to happen.


Hint: Battle Of Hu Lao Gate: Easy level
up:
Play the battle at Hu Lao Gate as anyone desired. Go
through the level as usual. After you defeat all the generals
except for Dong Zhou, go to the south of the map where the gate
is located. Avoid the gate captain and have your bodyguards take
care of him . Then, go to the gate and run or stand in front of
it. Enemies will start pouring out. Note: This is a good strategy
to get Lu Bu. It is possible to get 1,000 kills before you get
into Hu Lao Gate, and result in about 11,000 to 15,000 points.
This is a great way to increase your stats quickly.


Hint: Battle Of Jie Ting: Easy level up:

Start a two player game in free mode under the normal
difficulty setting as the Shu side. With the already strong player,
kill the officers and let the weaker player pick up the items.
There is also a Musou +10 in the path in the middle and a Life
+10 at the top left corner of the summit. There are three weapon
crates dropped by officers (Huang Quan, Cao Hong and Sun Li).
You will almost certainly get a third weapon from one of them.



Hint: Battle Of Tong Gate: Easy power up
and weapons:
Play at the level on Cao Cao's side. Go the Tong Gate
and follow the outside of it north until you see a black box.
Open it and you will get a weapon. Kill all of the Generals and
enemies. Cheng Yin will give you another weapon (HP +10) at the
northwest gate and a Musou +10 at the northeast gate. Kill everybody,
then Kill Ma Chao and you will have some good power ups.


Hint: Battle Of Yi Ling: Easy level up:

Play the level with the character you want to level
up. Kill the officers Gan Ning and Lu Meng with a 20+ hit combo
or one Musou attack. This should give you Attack+16 and +8 from
each general. Next, kill Sun Shang Xiang, Lu Xun, and Cheng Pu.
Kill all of them with a 20+ hit combo. This should give you a
total of defense+20. Next, kill all Gate Captains with a 20+ hit
combo or one Musou attack. You can now get Defense+2 from each
Gate Captain. You can also get the Life+10 and the Musou+10 inside
of the maze. Repeat this level many times using this strategy.
Play the level on the Shu side under the easy (recommended) or
normal difficulty settings. If you start near Ma Chao and Gan
Ning (Gan Ning being the enemy), kill Gan Ning, then Lu Meng,
Lu Xun, Cheng Pu, and Sun Sianux Su. Travel south into the Stone
Warrior Formation maze. When you enter, take a left, then the
first right. There should be a Musou +10 in the lone pot. Continue
along the bottom of the maze until you reach to a fenced off Stone
Warrior. Take a left. There should be three pots along the right.
One of them has a Life +10. Continue up until you reach the exit.
Defeat Sun Quan, then repeat this as needed. Note: Your character
must have his or her second or third weapon; or have very good
stats.


Hint: Battle Of Yi Ling: Easy kills:
Use the following trick to get over 4000 kills at the
Battle Of Yi Ling. Using your best character is recommended. Select
the Wu side under any difficulty setting and play through as usual.
When you get to the area where Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang are located,
kill Zhuge Liang then go to the area behind Liu Bei. The Gate
Captain will keep sending troops at you. Keep swinging and slashing.
This is also a good way to get a lot of points. If you get there
fast enough, you can probably get over 4000 kills.

Hint: Battle At Yi Ling: Easy attack level
up:
Play the level under any difficult setting. Acquire
a second weapon for your character. Then, kill Gan Ning, Lu Meng
and Cheng Pu with a 20+ hit combo or kill them with one Musou
attack only. Gan Ning and Lu Meng together provide Attack +16.
Then, kill Cheng Pu the same way to get a total of Attack +18
for the entire level. Repeat this as needed.

Hint: Battle At Yi Ling: Easy defense level
up:
Play the level with a new character with at least their
second weapon. Kill Sun Shang Xian and Lu Xun with a 20+ hit combo
for a total of Defense +16. Repeat this as needed.


Hint: Guan Yu Escape: Hidden items:
There is a Life +10 in between the two houses where
you fight Khang He. There is a Musou +10 behind the second gate.



Hint: Hu Loa Gate: Hidden items:
In Hu Loa Gate, on top of the Han Shui Gate is a Musou
+10. On the Hu Loa Gate is a Life +10.


Hint: Nanman Campaign: Easy level up:
Kill all the officers including Meng Huo every time
he appears. This should get you not only very high stats (about
Attack+20 and Defense+20 including the Gate Captains), but also
your third weapon. Repeat this level a few times until you get
the third weapon or you are you satisfied.


Hint: Pong Tong Gate: Hidden items:
You can get an easy Life +10 at the top left by your
gate. To the top right of their gate is a Musou +10. Chose the
allied team (not Cao Cao's) to do it in less than seven minutes.



Hint: Surprise Attack On Liu Biao: Saving
Sun Jian:
In order to save Sun Jian from being crushed, you must
kill Kuai Liang before Sun Jian arrives at the area that he is
normally killed in. Try going directly to Kwai Liang without fighting
any Gate Guards or Lu Gong. This will stall Sun Jian. Another
way to save him is to play as his character.


Hint: Yellow Turban Rebellion: Hidden items:

There is a Musuo +10 near the Gate for the Yellow Turban
to the far left. Head down close to the outside land and you will
find it there. The Life +10 is found just outside the river opening
to the castle on the north side. There is also another Musou +10
at the second protrusion from the south on the West Castle Wall.
There is also another Life +10 at the second protrusion from the
north of the East Castle Wall. Note: This probably can only be done with Zhang He. Play the level
and equip Zhang He's fourth weapon and a good pair of Wing Boots.
Zhang He can jump onto the platforms connected on the castle,
which stick out to get Life +20 and Musou +20. Note: This depends
on your Wing Boots, which may need a +10 or +11 Jump. You can get the Life +10 and Musou +10 on the protrusion by going
to the inside corners of the castle and going up the stairs. Jump
off the side and land on the platform/protrusion from the wall.
Note: Get a horse and leave it near the protrusion so that you
know where it is; when you go up on top of the castle walls it
is very difficult to see the protrusion.


Hint: Yellow Turban Rebellion: Easy level
up:
Play the level as the Han forces under free mode and
the hard difficulty setting with a character who you want to make
stronger. From where ever you start, go straight to the allied
Gate in the bottom left corner and defeat the general who is attacking
it. Then, go to the river where there is a scene of the it being
frozen, Immediately run back to the gate earlier, without killing
any more generals. Wait until Liu Bei, Sun Jian, and Cao Cao die,
leaving the castle under siege. Wait until He Jin is under attack
and help him. All that remains is to kill anyone who gets in your
way. The Gate closest to Zhang Jiao is the only one that will
send units your way. Getting a horse to go and close all the Gates
is helpful. In doing this, you should be able to kill over 1000
to 2000 enemies, raising you five or six levels. Get the Life+10s on the east wall platform, and at the top opening
of the castle inside the jar atop the ridge to your immediate
right. Then, get the Musou+10 on the second platform on the west
wall. Repeat this level many times using this strategy. Remember
to kill every general this level.


Hint: Yi Ping: Hidden items:
Chose the easy difficulty setting to get +4 Four Attack
from both Gan Ning and Lu Meng and +4 Defense from Sun Shang Xiang
and Lu Xun. Life +10 and Musou +10 are also in the maze. Complete
this in less than 25 minutes with a fourth weapon and good stats.



Hint: Item upgrades:
To get better upgrades, such as Tortoise Amulet +60,
play the game under the hard difficulty setting in these stages
and kill these characters for only items in that stage. Do not
bother doing this on any level below Attack On Liu Biao.

Hint: Getting second and third weapons:

Go to You Ting and defeat Zhang Pu and Zhen Ji. They
will both give you weapons. Sometimes the weapons are first weapons,
at other times they are the second or third weapons. Note: This
can be done with anybody, but you should build them up first.
Play the Assault On Wu Territory level under the hard difficulty
setting. Have someone help you defeat the stage. While the other
person is defeating the officers, go and take all of the weapon
boxes that appear. Some weapon boxes are in boxes. After completing
the level, you should have the second and third weapons. Play as Cao Cao and successfully complete the game. His first
and second weapons are the same as Liu Bei's, Sun Quan's, and
Sun Jian's first and second weapons. When you start a new Musou
with these characters, you will automatically get their second
weapon. Play under the normal or hard difficulty setting. Go to the Assault
On the Wu Territories level and play as Sun Ce's forces. There
are four weapons in this stage; three of them are held by officers,
Zhang Ying, Chen Heng, and Yan Yu. The fourth one is in a box
that will be diagonally left of your position as soon as you enter
the fort on the bottom right of the map, where Liu Yong is located.
Play the Nanman Campaign under any difficulty setting. Meng Huo,
Meng You, and Dailali Dongzou will all give you weapon boxes.
They usually are a mix of second and third weapons. Start a two player free mode game under the hard difficulty setting
at the Battle Of You Ting level. Play as Sun Jian's forces. This
stage is the perfect place to find second or third weapons. Player
one should be a fresh character you want the weapon for, while
player two should be a maxed out character with the fourth weapon.
When you start the level, let player two take care of the Gate
Captains, archers, and soldiers. Then, walk player one to the
crates at the start of the beach and smash them all. One of them
contains a weapon and another has an item. Move player two up
the path to Liu Biao's castle. On the way, look for a crate. Kill
the soldiers there with player two, then move player one to the
crate and smash it. Pick up the contents, which almost always
is a second or third weapon. Finish the stage with player two.
Play the Guan Yu's Escape level as any character under the medium
difficulty setting. Play the level two times and make sure that
your character has moderate stats. Play through the level as normal
and make sure to get all the weapons available from officers.
On the second time through the level, you will get that character's
second or third weapon. There are four weapons that can be found in the Assault On Wu
Territory level. Play on Sun Ce's force on any difficulty setting.
Note: The harder the setting, the better the weapons. Both of
the generals at the start of the level, Zhang Ying and Chen Heng,
drop weapons. As you progress through the level, defeat Tashi
Ci and go to fight Yan Bai Yu. His sub-general Yan Yu will drop
the third weapon. The fourth weapon is in a crate in the middle-left
part of section where you fight Liu Yong.


Hint: Easy second weapons:
Play a two player game with one character who has very
good stats and another character who you want the weapon for.
Play at the Yellow Turban Rebellion under the hard difficulty
setting and have each character equipped with a Red Hare Saddle.
At the very beginning, put the character you want the weapon for
near Sun Jian but not in a place where he could get hurt. Next,
have your strong character fight Sun Jian. When he dies, he will
drop a weapon. Let your strong character just stand there. He
should have good enough defense that barely any health is taken
away. Have the other character quickly run in, grab the weapon,
and run out again. Then, go in the castle with the strong character
and kill He Jin to end the level. You will almost always get the
character's second weapon and sometimes even their third weapon.
Note: You may have problems doing this with Zhang He.


Hint: Easy third weapons:
Go to the Surprise Attack On Lui Biao level with an
already enhanced Lu Bu and the character you want. There are five
weapon boxes throughout the level. Get those with the other character,
not Lu Bu after killing every person on the level with Lu Bu,
except for the main person. Then, kill the last person. There
is also a Musou +10 and an Life +10 in the level. For a third
weapon, play under the hard difficulty setting. If you do not
get their second or third weapon, play on the other side. Max out a character (with or without a fourth weapon). Put a base
strength character in the player one slot. The game adjusts its
difficulty according to the first player's strength. Then, put
your maxed character in slot two under the normal difficulty setting.
Play the Battle At Tong Gate. At the start of the battle, put
your first player character in a safe spot nearby then kill Tong
Gate Generals Ma Dai, Pang De, and Han Sui. By now Ma Chow will
be occupied with Cao Cao -- kill Cheng Yin and he will drop a
weapon box. Keep the box on the second player's screen and have
player one take the box. Have player two stand there and let his
bodyguards take care of any units. Then, take player one to the
northern-most point of Cao Cao's side of Tong Gate. Once there
you will find a box with a weapon inside. Take the weapon, then
hide player one and kill Ma Chow with player two. Play the Battle of Mt. Ding Jun level on Shu forces. Turn around
and take the path Zhand Fei is taking. Kill Xiahou De to get the
weapons box. Go to where Xiahou Yuan is located and go right,
then break open the box and pick up the weapons box. Next, find
and kill Cao Hond and pick up the weapons box for the last one
in the stage. There is also a Life +10 to the right of Cao Cao,
to the left of you. You should play the level under the normal
or hard difficulty setting for a better chance at getting the
third weapon. The weapon will give you better stats. For example,
playing on easy results with Life +9, playing on hard results
in Life +31. Play the Battle At Tong Gate level in two player mode under the
hard difficulty setting. Have one of the players be powered up
and the other as the character that will get the third weapon.
Leave the first player where they start (unless there are enemies
nearby, then move them away). Have the second player go to the
right. Hopefully they will start near Cao Cao. If not, then use
someone that does to find the box. Follow the hill to the left
and when it makes a sharp turn keep going forward until you find
the coast. Then, follow it to the left until you find a box that
always has a weapon in it. Get it, then move him to safety. Use
player one to finish the level. This may need to be repeated if
the found weapon is the player's second weapon. Play the Siege Of He Fei Castle level. This stage is quite long;
save often in case you run out of time. First, defeat all the
enemies at the bottom of the map, but do not proceed upwards --
there will be a surprise attack coming from the southeast. Defeat
all of them, then go to the northeast part of the map. You will
know if you are in the correct location if a message stating something
about arrows appears. Quickly run across. Arrows will shoot at
you from the sides. Continue on to the Wind Corridor Trap. Instead
of going around it, got into it, avoiding the columns. The weapon
box inside contains your third weapon. Defeat Sima Yi to finish
the level. Play the Fan Castle level under the normal difficulty setting
with a Warrior Body Guard (so that you will not get a level 3
body guard weapon instead). Find all the crates in the level.
There should be two weapon crates and Gan Ning should drop one.
Make sure that you build up your character slightly or equip an
Tiger Amulet, Tortoise Amulet, a Buckler (so that your guard can
not be broken) and a Speed Scroll. Also have the character's second
weapon (or first if you are very skilled). You will get the character's
second and third weapons. It is possible to do this level without
leveling up at all. Play the Battle Of Tong Gate level as the Wei. At the start of
the battle go to the Tong Gate, then go all the way to the right
of it. Next to the river is a weapon. Complete the level and it
is usually the third weapon. If it does not work on the first
try for a character, try it a second time with them.

Hint: Easy fourth weapons:
Play under the hard difficulty setting with two players
(one who already has a fourth weapon and the other that needs
a fourth weapon). Complete what is necessary with the good character,
then use the other character to pick up the fourth weapon. For
example, to get Taishi Ci's special weapon, play the Assault On
Wu Territory level with Lu Bu and his fourth weapon and Taishi
Ci. Get Taishi Ci to safety. Kill every one except Sun Ce. Then,
use Taishi Ci to get his fourth weapon. Note: You do not necessarily have to pick up the item with the
weaker character. Anybody can pick up the fourth item for the
weaker character. It will automatically be given to the character
without the fourth weapon. For precious (special) items, put the character whose weapon you
are after in the first slot (base strength) and put a maxed out
character in slot two. With player two, perform the actions required
to make the weapon appear then just have player one collect it.
For Supply Troop weapons, have a base strength player in slot
one and the character whose weapon you are after in slot two.
Do what is needed to get the weapon under the hard difficulty
setting. Get a character's second weapon , choose the Nanman campaign,
then kill everyone (including Meng Hou), except Meng Hou for the
last time. At the end, you should have three weaponsm with one
being the special weapon. This can be done with Guan Yu, Zhang
Fei, Zhao Yun, Zhou yu, and Xiahou Dun. Note: Always use the second
weapon always as it does more damage. Fourth weapons can be picked up by anyone, as the weapons are
usually level specific. As long as you have the corresponding
character as player one, the weapon will appear after completing
the tasks with any character, unless stated "...must pass
under and it will appear." Just
put the stronger character out of harm's way, then have the other
character (player one) go through the gate. When the message appears,
either retreat back to safety and have the stronger player (player
two) pick it up and finish, or pick it up as player one and retreat
to safety.


Hint: Stay powered-up:
When you are fighting with Xu Zhu during the time when
your health is red (True Musou), press Circle to attack
the enemy. When you fall down, you are still powering up. Wait
until you are fully charged and keep on going through this process.



Hint: Extra Musou attack:
When you are attacking someone and are surrounded,
attack them to your maximum. When you would usually stop attacking
immediately press Circle to get the five or so blows plus
the Musou. This trick can be done with Pang Tong when there are at least
a few enemies close to you. Do Pang Tong's six-hit combo into
a mass enemy group. Immediately after Pang Tong does his sixth
hit, press Circle for the Musuo attack. When you normally
activate his Musuo attack with the Musuo is down to 25% empty,
it gives you less hits. However, since the sixth hit strikes after
the beginning of the Musuo attack, the bar is refilled, adding
more special attack time. This is best done when Pang Tong is
maxed out with Attack and Musuo. Start by choosing two people to play Free or Musou mode. When
you build up your Musou attack bar, stand next to your partner.
They must also have a full Musou bar. Have both players press
Circle simultaneously to get a super Musou attack that
can wipe out everyone without touching them. If your character has a long Musou you can do a longer Musou attack.
Hold Circle while your Musou attack is going. If done correctly
and your Musou is long enough, it will do more hits to the Musou.
For better results equip a Dragon Amulet and try to pick up Musou
+10 items when you find them.


Hint: Super Musou attack:
Two players are required for this trick. Get the two
players to full Musou, then go next to each other. Their hands
should be dark blue. Have both players press Circle to
do an electrical Musou that will stun the enemy and send him flying.



Hint: Longer Musou attacks:
Use the following trick to make your combos larger
with Musou. Instead of just pressing Circle or tapping
it repeatedly, hold it until your Musou gauge is empty. If you
have the Way Of The Musou item, when it ends it will finish the
combo. This works well with Guan Yu.


Hint: Shorter Musou:
A shorter Mosou Max stat may be better, since it requires
less time to fill up and Musou more readily available. Avoid taking
the +10 Musou boxes and do not use +xx Musou Max items.


Hint: Easy Musou mode:
To complete beat Musou mode easily, start a game in
two player Musou mode. Choose the character you want to be. Then,
with the second controller choose any character that is already
leveled up and is good. Play through Musou mode with the good
character and you should win easily. Make sure you keep the other
character out of danger. Start a two player Musou mode game. When you each find each other
and are fully charged with Musou, press Circle. The screen
will stop and rotate. Both warriors will do their specials and
it usually kills every enemy.


Hint: Super arrow attack:
When you have lots of arrows with a full musou bar,
find a large enemy group and pull out your bow. Hold Circle
until your Musou bar is empty. There longer your Musou bar, the
more arrows you will shoot. This is extremely useful if you have
about 50 arrows and get a Musou Max for 10 seconds (Emperors Seal).
You can unload arrows for ten seconds plus however long your Musou
is.


Hint: Better kill bonuses:
Kill Gate captains with Musou attack (full combos)
to get Defense Up +2 instead of +1. You can do this either in
Free or Musou mode. One way to fill up you defense meter quickly
is to play the Battle Of Hu Lao Gate level as the allied forces.
There are seven Gate captains and three officers who have the
Defense Up item. Kill them all with Musou attack to get +20 total.
You can also use this trick to Attack Up. Everything +1 killed
by Musou attack will be +2 (defense or attack). Do a 20 or more hit combo to kill a general to get double the
amount of the normal + Defense or + Attack bonus. For example,
killing Gan Ning at Yi Ling with a big combo will give you +8
Attack instead of +4 Attack. Note: You must kill the general with
the combo. Get at least an 8-hit combo to get Attack/Defense +2 instead of
+1.


Hint: More kills:
Go to a gate but do not kill the Gate Captain. Kill
his guards and the Gate Captain will call for more men. The Gate
Captain will move back. Go to the gate until the small sign appears
and kill all the men that appear. You can lower the number of
people for that general. You can do this anywhere, with anyone.
It is also good training for you and your bodyguard.


Hint: Unlimited combo:
You need at least a five hit weapon for this trick.
Attack four times and press Triangle. Repeat this for an
unlimited combo.


Hint: Better combos at sixth attack:
Note: This trick requires third or fourth weapons and
does not work for all characters (works for Lu Bu). Do the usual
five normal attacks and when you do the Triangle combo,
repeatedly tap it quickly. Note: Some of them have it for the
attack where you do four attacks and Triangle (twice so
you jump up with them to hit them down). Some characters do not
have this type of attack.


Hint: Double charge intermission sequence
and morale boost:
Select free mode and the Battle Of Mt. Ding Jun on
the Shu forces. Select any character. As you start, help Huang
Zhong get close to the top of the steep part of the mountain but
do not let him go through the gate yet. Then, go down the mountain
to the first row of spears and wait until Xiahou Shang comes to
attack you. Defeat him and continue fighting in that same area.
While you are fighting, track Huang Zhong's movements by pausing
the game to check where he is via the unit information. When you
notice that he is getting close to the gate, resume the game and
look at the doorway. Note: You can also tell if he is close by
the intermission sequence of him shooting an arrow over the mountain
and killing one of Xiahou Yuan's bodyguards. When you see Huang
Zhong fighting in the doorway, get a horse from nearby. If you
have the Red Hare or Hex Mark saddle equipped, you could use those
horses as well. After mounting a horse, go back and fight alongside
Huang Zhong, then follow him down the mountain. If done correctly,
you will be shown in the intermission sequence charging down the
mountain just behind Huang Zhong to engage with Xiahou Yuan. After
the intermission sequence, there should be a morale Boost for
all of the Shu forces. Note: This was done under the easy difficulty
setting.


Hint: Avoid falling:
When you get hit back or knocked off your horse, press
Square while in the air. When someone does a combo on you, their last hit will usually
throw you. While you are being thrown through the air, tap L1
a few times to flip back on your feet.


Hint: Knocking riders off elephants:
Stand in front of the elephant that is going to ram
you. When it hits you, press L1 a few times to bounce up.
While still in the air from your bounce, press Square to
execute your jump attack. Note: Do not try this with weak characters
with weak defense.


Hint: Opening gates:
When fighting on a level with wooden gates, position
your character against to and facing a gate. Try to fire an arrow
through it, at the enemy soldiers on the other side. When you
hit one, the gate will open up.


Hint: Better horse tactics:
Play under the hard difficulty and get a good Horned
Helmet (increases Mounted Attack). Some characters such as Liu
Bei and Ma Chao fourth weapons give mounted attack. It is good
if you also have a long Musou. When you do your Musou on a horse,
hold Circle until your Musou is empty. Your character will
do many strong blows until their Musou runs out. For best results,
have your characters five items be the Red Hare Saddle (or Hex
Mark), Horned Helmet, Cavalry Armor, Dragon Amulet, and Way Of
The Musou.


Hint: Avoid getting lost:
If you are in a situation where you have no map during
the game, pause game play and use the large map at the equipment
screen to navigate.


Hint: Make a face:
In two player free mode, have player one hold R2
or the bow and player two get in a cinematic scene (such as getting
in a battle with an opponent such as Yang Fe or Liu Bie). After
the scene ends, you should see player one's face, with that player
making a face.


Hint: Xu Zhu the elephant in opening:
Enable the "Opening Edit option" code. At
the scene where the player you select would be on an elephant
hitting people, choose Xu Zhu. Play it to see Cao Cao on a elephant,
but you will first see Xu Zhu taking the place of the elephant.



Hint: No death in hero's end in opening:

In the hero's end part of "Opening Edit",
put in one of the following to see him/her order troops to battle
while mounted: Lu Bu, Dong Zhuo, Meng Huo, Zhu Rong, Diao Chan,
Zhang Jiao, Fu Xi, and Nu Wa. About all the Wu characters have
the scene with the boulder falling on someone; try it with Huang
Gai.


Hint: Special death scenes:
Some warriors in certain battles have special death
scenes. These correspond to the battles in which these warriors
died in real life. Some examples include:


Xiahou Yuan, Mt Ding Jun
Zhuge Liang, Wu Zhang Plains
Dian Wei, Wan Castle
Guan Yu, Fan Castle

Hint: Special death sequences:

In the Surprise Attack On Liu Biao, when Sun Jian is killed in
Liu Biao's trap, you will see your character behind Sun Ce, crying
over his farther crushed under a rock.



In the battle of He Fei (not He Fei castle), if Taishi C is killed,
you will see him being ambushed by Zhang Liao, and killed. Note:
This will only happen if Taishi C falls into Zhang Liao's trap.
This happens if Wu forces head too far into Wei's part of the
middle section.


Hint: Ending sequences:

Successfully complete the game with Dian Wei and Xu Zhu and they
will fight for an onion during the ending sequence.



Successfully complete the game with Sun Ce to see Xiao Qiao and
Da Qiao dance during the ending sequence.



Successfully complete the game with Zhang He to see him get up
and dance next to Zhen Ji during the ending sequence.



Successfully complete Musou mode under any difficulty setting
with Zhou Yu to see Sun Shang Xiang dancing in the ending sequence.




Successfully complete Musou mode under any difficulty setting
with Zhuge Liang to see Zhu Rong sing and dance in the ending
sequence.



Successfully complete Musou mode with Pang Tong to see his astounding
Magic Show.



Successfully complete Musou mode with Xiao Qiao to see Lu Xun
singing and dancing.


Successfully complete Musou mode with Lu Xun to see him give his
sword to Sun Shao.



Successfully complete Musou mode with Gan Ning to see several
soldiers crowded around him while he is chugging beer out of a
jug.



Successfully complete Musou mode under the easy difficulty setting
with Sun Jian. When you get to the Nanman level, make sure Zhu
Rong does not die to see her in the ending sequence.



Successfully complete the game in Musou mode as Lu Xun. At the
battle of Yi Ling, take out these generals in order: Pang Tong,
Zhao Yun, Guan Yu, then Huang Quan. After killing them, take out
any other generals if desired. Go into the Stone Warrior Formation
and take out Zhuge Liang and Liu Bei. At the end, the entire will
be decorated with Christmas lights.



Successfully complete the game in easy mode with Dian Wei to see
Xu Zhu about to break a large piece of stone with his fist when
Dian Wei comes over drunk, passes out, and breaks the stone with
his head.


Hint: Funny ending sequence:
Play through Musou mode in two player mode, with any
character as player one and the your best character as player
two. Have player two win each level and player one kill nobody.
At the end, it will say "0" for the kill number each
time. For example, do this with Da Qiao and Guan Yu (player two)
and the game will say "In the Yellow Turban Rebellion, Da
Qiao won her affection after defeating 0 soldiers" and sometimes
it will say 0 soldiers forcing a retreat.


Hint: Xu Zhu combos:
Doing a jump attack on any person will make your combo
rack very fast. You can also jump attack someone immediately after
doing this once to continue your combos. This is very useful for
getting 20 or better combo hits on Generals for twice the normal
item given.


Hint: Zhou Yu singing and dancing:
Play through Musou mode under any difficulty setting
as Da Qiao or Xiao Qiao to have Zhou Yu as the singer/dancer in
the ending sequence. He still has the woman's voice, and does
the same exact dance.


Hint: Zhen Ji dancing:
Successfully complete the game with Dian Wei to see
Zhen Ji dancing. You can also see Zhen Ji dancing by completing Musou mode with
Zhang He.


Glitch: Explore level:
Play as Sun Quan on the Mt. Ding Jun level. Help Xiahou
Yuan up the main path. A Shu unit will appear near Cao Cao. Go
to help him. Get on the bridge where Xiahou Yuan starts out and
get hit off your horse. You will flip back over in the air. If
Zhou Yun hits you off the bridge, you can walk in the level where
you usually cannot travel (through the river, up the mountains,
etc.). If you walk back on the path, you will not be able to leave
it again.


Hint: Funny opening edit:
Enable the "Opening Edit option" code. You
will reach a part that says "Enchantress." Put in someone
like Zhang Liao, Dian Wei, or even Cao Cao. Note: You can only
put in characters that you have used to win the game with.


Glitch: Shoot through gates:
Go to a level with gates. Before it opens, aim your
bow at the gate then shoot. You will hit someone.



Glitch: Misleading message:
In the Battle of Yi Ling under normal mode when playing
Lu Xun, if the requirements for getting his fourth weapon are
filled, a notice will appear that a special item has appeared
in the Stone Warrior Formation, where his fourth weapon would
appear. Obviously, since it is in normal mode, there is not anything
there and can be frustrating to waste time checking for a non-existent
box.
