Find at least one dog bone. Then, go to the city map and you will
see all the dog bone location. Note: It is recommended that you
save the game after finding one dog bone. Go to a parking garage
"P" on the radar or an upgrade (green or blue on radar).

Hint: Escaping car pursuits:
When you are supposed to flee from other cars shooting
at you, look for big open spaces like the Staples Center parking
lot and drive through them. The people chasing you will stay on
the road and go all the way around, giving you a good chance to
escape. To escape easily while in pursuit, drive to the nearest highway.
Try to get a good lead from the enemies before you do this. Drive
up the branch of the highway, and keep straight. Do not leave
the highway. Enemies are not able to get on the highway when you
do this. They stick to the main road. Keep straight and eventually
you will gain your points and end the mission. When trying to escape from an enemy in a Rush mission, take out
the cars that are chasing you and they will not follow. This takes
about thirty seconds. To escape a chase, find a parking lot or a park and go into the
middle of it. Once there, enable the "bullet time" mode
and shoot out the tires of your opponents car. For a quick escape,
wait until they turn around and shoot their licensee plate to
blow them up. When you start, drive normally until the car chasing you is almost
bumper to bumper but next to you. Then, stop as soon as it seems
it is past your back wheels. Go into first person view in the
car. Aim for the tires and blow them out. When your ''bullet time''
runs out, start aiming at the back of the car or shoot the engine.
When the car seems completely on fire, make your getaway. On a mission where you have to get away from a certain person,
turn your car around and start shooting at the person who is chasing
you. If you blow them up, they cannot chase you anymore Note:
Use precision aim to shoot out their tires. Note: This will not
work for all getaway missions. When you are being chased by fast cars, go on a straight away
and floor it. When you get reasonably far away, press the Left
Analog-stick
Left and press Circle. This should
turn you around. Then, press Square and drive in reverse.
By now the cars should be close to you. Shoot the cars in any
way desired. When you are done shooting them, turn around again
and go forward. Run away to complete the mission. When you are at a mission where you have to outrun someone (police,
thugs, etc.), the best thing to do is to play driving upgrade
missions until you learn how to drive on two wheels. Then, replay
your mission. Lead the people to the freeway and when they follow
you, use the two wheel trick to flip the railing and drive off.
Note: This trick may cause you to fail if you have been shot up
too much, and there is a possibility that you may get stuck upside
down.

Hint-Blow up cars easily:
Drive up behind a car and hold R1 to go into
"bullet time". Then, aim at the license plate and fire.
Most of the time it will take a single shot. For cargo trucks,
aim under the passenger side and slightly to the back and fire.
This makes stopping street racers and other people easy. To explode a car in one hit, go into aim mode and wait until your
aiming crosshair appears. Then, shoot when it turns red. If it
does not turn red, then just shoot around the license plate until
the car explodes. To blow up vehicles up in one shot aim at the following locations.
For cars, aim at the back at license plate. For pickup trucks,
aim at either side behind the doors. For trucks, aim for the gas
tank behind both doors.

Hint: Leap frog cars:
When you are in your Lamborgini, boost directly behind
a Hummer. You will go under him while he goes up ino the air.

Hint: Get a car on the other side of the
highway:
Go onto any highway. Find a car that is near to any
side of the highway and smash it against the side. It is possible
to hit a car off the edge of a highway.

Hint: Big jumps:
Go to Venice and go on Dell street. There are some
huge jumps here.

Hint: Brake boost:
While driving some of the civilian cars you can press
Circle and it will give you a boost. However, do not hold
it too long or it may cause your car to spin out.

Hint: Stop street racers:
While following a speeding car or truck, aim directly
beneath the back bumper so that your bullet hits the bottom of
the car. Do this repeatedly and the car will explode. Note: Do
not do this if you are trying to get a Good Cop rating.

Hint: Stop carjackings:
When your enemy is escaping by stealing a getaway car,
kick them when they are pulling out the victim to stop them.

Hint: Slide across hoods:
To do this, you must be running at a medium speed (if
running at full speed, Nick will jump over the car). Run until
your are right next to the car then press Jump. Nick will
slide across the hood. This works on any vehicle.

Hint: Getting enemies to surrender:
When you are doing a crime patrol involving people
with guns, fire a warning shot (R2 + R1) and slowly
walk up to them. If they are still holding their gun, either walk
up to them and wait until they shoot you, or do a neutralized
shot.

Hint: 360 degree spin in car:
Get some speed in a car. When you think you have enough
speed, start to turn left or right then continuously tap Circle
until you stop. You should have then spun all the way around.

Hint: Wheelie:
To perform a wheelie, use the Rapid Spin maneuver then
hold X. You should perform the wheelie. Note: This may
require a few attempts, and works best in the '03 Ferrari Sports
Car (yellow).

Hint: Drive around impound lot:
In the impound lot where you can choose from the four
cars you unlock, honk the horn a few times, then go in reverse
before you hit the gas and you can around the lot.

Hint: Drive automatically:
When you are on a mission where you need to drive on
the world map, do not press any buttons. Nick will start driving
like the other cars until you take over.

Hint: Bashing through walls:
There is a way to bash through the walls that crumble
when you attack them. Simply drive at them at a very high speed
so that your car drives straight through before the crumbling
of the wall is over. This is useful when being chased by gangsters,
cops, etc., as they cannot get through.

Hint: Flying cars:
Flip a car by a bridge and it will fly into the air
and give you a score for highest air, etc.

Hint: Big air:
Get a very fast car and drive to the four-way intersection
of I-110 and I-10 (the yellow roads). By any means, get your car
directly below that intersection. The easiest way to do is to
pop your car on two wheels and hit the guardrail. Once you are
at the bottom, drive to the brown building that is standing by
itself. Peel out on the west corner. There should be a low wall
with windows located here. Peel out until your car pops up. When
it pops up, accelerate. This should send your car hurling above
the city. You can also try to exit your car in mid-air to make
Nick freefall.

Hint: Spotting illegal drugs:
To avoid wasting time frisking innocents, look for
people that walk differently. Frisk people who do not look at you when they walk past.

Hint: More damage:
When an opponent is dazed, you can hit them hard into
the wall with a finisher to do even more damage.

Hint: Deadly knife throw:
In some situations when a enemy drops a knife, you
can pick it and throw it. If thrown correctly, it will impale
their forehead, killing them.

Hint: Impale enemies:
Use the following trick to impale someone with a blade,
syringe, etc. First, get your opponents health down to the point
where it is flashing. Then, pick up a melee weapon that can impale
someone and throw it directly at them. Look at your opponent,
and they will have a melee weapon stuck in there head.

Hint: Reverse attack:
Use the Technique forward switchblade against an enemy
following you. Then hold Square and attack the car following
you. You can also hit the wheels while driving backwards.

Hint: Restore health:
Learn where the impound garages are located. When you
get low on health, just visit the garage. You will not only get
a fresh car, your health will be full again.

Hint: Easy arrests:
When in a police car, press Right to turn on
the lights. Drive to get some speed, but do not go too fast. Press
L1 to jump out of the care and the lights will stay on
. Perps who are guilty will sometimes surrender when they see
the lights and hear the siren.

Hint: Easy knock out:
When chasing an opponent, shoot them with a weak gun
a few times until they are almost dead. Put away your guns and
fight when you catch up to them. This makes it easier to defeat
an enemy.

Hint: Easy arrests:
Go on Highway 10 West all the way to the end where
you see the road block. After that, turn right on Sunset Blvd.
Park your car anywhere and walk around the area with the gas station.
When a street crime, drug dealer suspect, or mugging crimes appear,
flash your badge at them. They should immediately surrender without
a fight.

Hint: Increasing Cop rank:
Go around checking everyone for drugs and weapons to
get +1 Good Cop. Go to the Hancock Park area in the middle of the map. On a street
corner at 2nd and Citrus Ave., you can frisk just about anyone
close to or moving to the intersection and almost always finds
drugs or weapons on them. Go to Ozone Ave. in Venice. Just about every person there will
have weapons or drugs. Go to 4th and Hill. Just about everyone there has drugs or guns.
To increase your Good or Bad Cop rank easily, replay a stealth
mission and choose your attack accordingly. To increase your Good Cop rank, walk on any street near from somebody.
If they look at you, it means that they are clean for drugs or
weapons. If they do not look, they have illegal things like guns
or drugs. Arrest them and you will hear a sound of good cop. Note:
Do not try this with people who are talking by a phone. There is a street where almost all of the people you arrest will
either be carrying drugs or weapons. To get there, take Highway
10 east or until you get to where Highway 10 and Highway 405 cross
over. It will be near the east side of the map. Take Highway 405
south. When you merge with Highway 405, take the very first road
off Highway 405. It will be backwards, but it should lead to National
Blvd. When you get off Highway 405, you should turn left. After
you pass Sawtelle Blvd., go down until you are about slightly
halfway past Sawtelle Blvd. Get out of your car and frisk someone.
They should have drugs or weapons. Play a stealth mission with a lot of people and use only stun
attacks (Square), then complete the stage. Wait until the
auto save is finished. Then, exit to the main menu and resume
the game. Play the stealth mission again. Repeat until you get
the desired good cop rank. In the Hancock Park area on Highland Blvd. between 3rd and 2nd
Street, mostly everyone has illegal drugs or weapons. The street
is located just above the "O: in Hancock Park on the map.
In Hancock Park on Highland Blvd., between the white picket fence
and the green shrubs, most people you stop will have illegal drugs
and guns, even those on their cell phones. On Second Street between Irving Bvld. and Lorraine Blvd., most
everyone you stop will have drugs or guns. Start a fight with a pedestrian, and when you stun them, knock
them over with a special move. Before they get up, take out your
guns. Once they are standing, they will surrender and you can
go in for the arrest. Note: this will not work if the pedestrian
is carrying a gun; frisk them before you start fighting. When someone is defeated, go near them then hold R2 and
press Circle. This will make Nick or Snoop kick the person
and slap handcuffs on them. This increases your Cop Rank and your
Good/Bad Cop status. If you are in Venice, immediately start driving towards the apartments
by the ocean (refer to the map). These streets are somewhat small,
so they may be easy to miss. Drive around and you will find a
street called Dudley. Everybody there is carrying drugs or weapons.
Note: Dudley is by Ozone. Everyone along Ocean View in Venice, at the far southwest on the
map, is carrying drugs or weapons. You can go up each street along
Ocean View up to one block and everyone there will have something
illegal on them. Also, armed muggers do not fight back on those
streets. Just draw your gun and they will drop their weapon. After you finish a Street Crime on foot, frisk the civilians on
the street that the crime was on. Most of your suspects will have
something. To get +99 Good Cop, go to the coastline of Santa Monica to a
street named Dudley Avenue. Every person on the lower half of
the street will have drugs or weapons. Keep arresting everyone
and you will have +99 Good Cop. Everyone in the Ocean View will have drugs or some kind of illegal
weapons. Go to Dudley Avenue. Everyone there will have drugs or weapons.
When at low badges or you need badges, take your guns out and
start shooting at walls. Eventually the people will get tired
of it, pull out a gun, and shoot back. This will give you 10 points
for each person you kill. Choose "Bonus Cruising" in Hancock Park. On either side
of Highland Blvd., near the hospital, stand in the area where
the chain link fence (not any other type of fence) is located.
Wait for anyone to walk within or away from the area of the fence.
When you frisk them, they will always either be "packing
heat or holding dope". Remember, they must be past the plane
of the chain link fence on the sidewalk for this to work. If you want to earn good cop points quickly, go to a street called
Rose Ave. in Venice. All of the people walking on that street
are usually either carrying drugs or guns. Simply walk up to anyone
on that street and frisk them to bust them. Note: Rose Ave. is
the street by the beach and is directly on the "N" in
the title "Venice" on the map. You can look up the map
from the start menu. If you want to increase your good cop rank, just play the missions
with sneaking. For each man knocked out there, you will get +1
to your good cop rank.

Hint: Decreasing Cop rank:
Simply start killing people. When you kill about thirty
people, the S.W.A.T. team comes after you.

Hint: Stay in parking garage:
When you are in the parking garage and about to get
a car, instead of pressing the gas, press reverse. You can stay
in the garage with your car instead of leaving to the street.
You can do whatever you want to in the garage.

Hint: Reckless driving:
To drive very recklessly, enter a vehicle with hard
power (bus, truck etc.). Drive around and crash many cars. When
you crash about twenty-five cars, you will soon jump and crash.
Get out of your vehicle and shoot it in the back. You will nowhave
a reckless driving and killing rating; get many bad cop ratings;
or get killed very easily and loose about two shields.

Hint: Getting through traffic:
Use the siren in Nick's car to get the other drivers
to pull over to the right. This will help you get through town
faster on all missions. Note: Depending on how fast you are going,
the cars may not have enough time to pull over; some weaving in
and out is still needed.

Hint: Reverse hydraulics:
Shoot out both back tires of the selected vehicle and
reverse.

Hint-S.W.A.T. team:
To get the S.W.A.T. team on you, kill a number of civilians
(about thirty). The S.W.A.T. team will come after you in black
vans.

Hint-Break fence:
If you are stuck behind a fence that can be broken
but do not have a car to break it with, Run at it and press Circle.
This will cause you to dive through the fence, breaking it and
freeing yourself.

Hint: Get past fence:
When in a blocked off place with a fence on the other
side, go up to it and face it. Do not press any buttons. The game
will put you back on the other side within five seconds. It is
easier to do this than hit the fence and not get through.

Hint: Defeating General Kim:
When fighting General Kim, use a low kick followed
by a block or another kick. When he is stunned, press Circle,
Square, X, Triangle to perform a super attack
which will do more damage than a normal grapple. It is possible
to roll through the railing once it is broken. To defeat General Kim on the building rooftop, start the fight
by running up to him. Either clothesline or slide kick him. He
may block it, but there may a chance to hit him. After this, start
kicking or punching him. He will block most of your attacks, but
you will eventually throw a successful punch or kick. Then, keep
attacking with that same attack until he gets dazed or starts
blocking. If he blocks, switch attacks (for example, from punches
to kicks or vice versa). Keep attacking and doing the same thing.
When he gets dazed, you can either grapple him or do a finishing
move. He may start to attack when you start a new combo or may
attack you when you switch between attacks; be ready to block
when he does this. It is unlikely that he will land a successful
attack in the middle of your combo, as you will have struck first.
Take advantage of this. If you want to do a finishing move, make
sure that you do it near the walls so that it inflicts more damage.
When he is on the floor, try stomping on him. You may miss most
of the time but you may land a successful stomp in. It is also
ideal to have a Good Cop rating when fighting him. To defeat General Kim on the airport runway, you must have the
highest Good Cop rating. After getting this, you can fight in
a similar way as you did on the building rooftop. Your goal is
to get him as dizzy as possible. When you start the fight, look
around the area for an iron pipe. When you find one, try attacking
him with it while trying to defend yourself. When he gets dizzy,
do the move where Nick swings the pipe over the head. It may do
some extra damage, although you may not see the difference. Keep
repeating this until the fight is over. Use the following trick if you are having trouble defeating General
Kim at the airport strip. First, start by beating him a little,
then grab a pipe found near the edge of the fire. Throw it at
him. He will be stunned for a moment. Press Circle to bring
him down. This drops his heath a very good amount, considering
how difficult he is to defeat. Repeat these steps two more times.
It will not be enough to kill him, but it lowers his heath a lot.
When fighting General Kim at the airstrip, the low-kick move is
the one that hits the most and blocks his special move, the Combo
Dragon Fist. When he starts to bring both hands back, shield yourself
or this move can bring down almost one third of your health.

Hint: Defeating ancient Wu's concubine:

The easiest way to defeat ancient Wu's concubine is
to run to the ropes and do a running attack. The rope will break.
Go back and fight the concubine. Force them to fight where you
broke the ropes and you can hit them off. Get one near the edge of the arena, then stun them and execute
the "Combo Tiger Claw". This should knock them over
the railing.

Hint: Defeating Wu's dragon:
When the dragon is about to use his fire attack, use
you manual aim to shoot it in the mouth, thus avoiding its fire
and tail attacks. To kill Wu's dragon while he is swimming in lava, switch to manual-aim.
Aim for the dragon's eye. This will hurt him.

Hint: Defeating zombie during Wu's mission:

After beating up the chefs, a zombie will appear. Go
near a stove and kick it. Hopefully, you have not destroyed it
while fighting the chefs. The stove will explode and both of you
will catch fire. The zombie will get greater damage than you.
Repeat this with the second stove. If the zombie is still alive,
knock him into the fire. Note: It is not possible to kill the
zombie with physical attacks.

Hint: Defeating Flaming Eddies:
A Flaming Eddie is a man with a grenade launcher. You
must get up to his face to make him shoot grenades in the air.
When he does, he will try to run, but a grenade will explode and
kill him.

Hint: Defeating Bosses:
Approach the Boss then press Block (L2)
and hold the Analog-stick in the opposite direction that
Nick is facing and press X + Square three to six
times. When it looks like the Boss is going to hit you, stop any
attack and just hold Block and the Analog-stick
in the opposite direction that Nick is facing. Note: In between
the punching and the kicking, try the jump kick occasionally.

Hint: Damage multiple enemies:
When fighting multiple enemies, kicking will damage
more then one when you get the chance. Also, you can send enemies
flying at other ones. This will damage the one who just got another
person thrown at them.

Hint: Jetting Away mission: Easy completion:

When chasing the plane with Rocky, get behind it and
go into "precision targeting". Shoot the engines until
they explode, then the whole plane will blow up.

Hint: Slaughterhouse mission: Cannibals:

While walking around this mission, you will eventually
see human bodies on the conveyor belt. If you shoot a body, all
extra ice will be blown away.

Hint: Spa Infiltration mission: Ten good
deeds:
Good judo chop (Good Cop) everybody on the level. At
the boiler room, go in the middle and chop the man in the chair.
Go around the boiler and chop the guard. At the end of the level,
go to your right and chop the man in the chair, then go to the
left and chop that man, being careful not to hit any buckets.
Then, end the level and repeat.
Hint: Drift location:
The Staples Center parking lot is the perfect place
to drift. It is very big and open.

Hint: Get into the airport landing strip:

One of the car parks at Airport Ave. has a little gap
at the far left side. Go through the gap and you will be in the
airport landing strip.

Hint: Handling hostage situations:
Run over the two people slightly so that you do not
kill them, but do enough damage so that they fall.

Hint: Easy crime solving:
The Parole Violator is usually the easiest, especially
if you use the sirens.

Hint: Chasing Triad thug:
If you keep chasing the Triad thug, he will eventually
just give up.

Hint: Get chased:
If you want to get chased by the S.W.A.T., pimps, mobsters,
gangsters, etc., you must kill about thirty people, However, there
an easier way to do it. While on patrol and you see a police officer
chasing a car, explode the car, arrest the perp, then kill the
cop. After that, just kill about five people, and mobsters, pimps,
or the S.W.A.T. will be after you. Note: You can also kill the
cops that are walking around the streets.

Hint: Vigilante 8 reference:

During one of the street crimes, the woman in the
radio says that a stunt car has been stolen during the shooting
of Vigilante 8: The Movie. Vigilante 8 was a game done
by Activision for the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation.

Hint: Movie reference:
In the game, there is a billboard that reads "True
Crime: Streets Of L.A.: The Movie, Fall 2005" on 21st street.
On the corner of 3rd St. and Los Angeles St., in front of a "Hot
Video" shop, there is a bench advertising a movie. It reads
"True Crime: Streets of LA - The Movie. Fall 2005".

Hint: O.J. Simpson reference:
There is a street mission that will instruct you to
stop a football star who just committed murder, and he is driving
an SUV. As you find him, it is a white Bronco-looking SUV. When
he gets out to run, he is wearing a black sweatshirt and beanie.

Hint: Cheat references:
In several parts of the city, there is graffiti on
the walls, usually spelling people's "tags". When you
find one, start a new game and enter it as a license plate to
unlock an alternate character in that game. Under one of the highway overpasses, you can see your partner's
name, Rosa, in graffiti on the wall. When playing, look at area businesses or condemned areas of housing
for graffiti. They reveal names to enter on the license plate.
(for example, "Rosa", "J1MM", "B00B",
"B1G1" etc. Most have already been given in the cheats
but some have not. It is easiest to do this with Snoop Dogg, since
you can pick a location to start from.

Hint: Rockstar spoof:
There is a billboard similar to the one announcing
the 2005 movie. However, this one has a J with a star similar
to the logo for Rockstar games. The billboard also says "Jockstrap"
in a similar font to that of the Rockstar logo. The picture on
the billboard that is of a pink jockstrap.

Hint: Business spoofs:
Some places throughout the game are spoofs of real
businesses. For example "OK Price" and "Burger&Fries"
are spoofs of "Best Buy" and "Burger King".

Hint: National Security
reference:
When you drive near highways, you will see a white
(sometimes black) Ford Crown Victoria (with triangle back-lights).
Look closely at the license plate. You will sometimes see the
plate reading 2CQN654. This was a license plate from the movie
National Security at the ending, when the cop asks for the license
plate number.

Glitch: Floating corpse:
To make dead bodies float, run over someone while they
are alive to where their bodies are on top of the car. Make sure
that they are dead. Then, back up slowly and they will stay floating.

Glitch: Floating Nick:
Run or walk and keep pressing Circle.

Glitch: Push pedestrian through wall or
fence:
When nick frisks a person next to a wall and they are
clean, he will give them a push. They will pass through the wall
and turn into a shadow. This also can be done with fences.

Glitch: Go through wall:
When suspects are behind a concrete fence and you cannot
shoot them, drive a car to the wall. Make sure that it is parallel
to the wall. To get through the wall, press L1 to exit
the car. This is a preset loop. You will be put through the wall.
To get back, return to where you got out or walk around and press
the button to get back in the car. You also can get back on the
correct side of a concrete wall or fence.

Glitch: Go through ground:
Go to Hollywood Ave, then get to Highway 110. Turn
right off to Hollywood Ave. You should see "Welcome To Hollywood
Ave". When you get off the 110 Highway, you should see a
big white building. Turn right onto the driveway. Drive a mini
van between the garage and the house, and you should fall down
and you can shoot the people from underneath.

Glitch: Roll through fences:
When you are stuck behind a fence that cannot be broken,
hit it to break some planks off. Then hold Toward the fence,
press Triangle to roll into it, then fire. Repeat this
fast enought until you roll through.

Glitch: Disappearing cars:
While in the impound garage, press Up to change
views. The car will disappear. Note: Repeat this if it did not
work the first time. Go to the impound garage and get in a car. Reverse then boost
by pressing Up(3), Circle. The car will become invisible.

Glitch: Bridge tricks:
Get to a bridge or overpass (the one on the 101 recommended).
If you flip your car over on top of the bridge, the top half of
your car will disappear. If you try to flip the car over, you
will fall through into the bridge. If you die inside, you will
reappear on top of the sky with the city far above you, you can
look around and see the sun. If you can find a place where the
bridge meets the ground, drive into it. Your car will explode,
and sometimes it will fly through the air close to 300 feet. Be
careful, because the game can freeze.

Glitch: Visible seams:
There are some houses on hills that are not connected
to the ground correctly. The fences and bushes also will not be
connected. Some houses have enough space between the bottom of
the house and the ground for a small car to fit through. You will
be inside the house, and if you try to leave through a wall, you
automatically explode.

Glitch: Objectives:
After you start the Dogg Patrol mission, press Start
and look at your objectives. It should read "Solve Street
Crimes", just below it, read "Solve Street Crimes (Optional)".

Glitch: Big air:
Around Bel Air on the city map is a long road that
is like a highway. Directly beside it is a street called Sepulveda
Blvd. At the very end of Supulveda Blvd is a turn that goes on
to Supulveda, but notice that the road changes. Go to the corner
where the two roads change. This should cause your car to go flying
and give you a huge jump distance, sometimes over 200 feet. Note:
Do not do this glitch before saving because it way freeze the
game. Also, do not walk into the corner without a car because
you will die.

Glitch: Unlimited ammunition:
This trick will only work in the free-roam missions,
as other missions will not allow you to holster your gun as the
trick requires. Pick up the gun for which you would like unlimited
ammunition. Then, pick up a second gun to move the first gun to
Nick's right hand. When your right-handed gun is low on ammunition,
holster your guns and press R1 + R2 to fire a shot
into the air (just once). Unholster your weapons and the right-handed
weapon should have a full clip of ammunition. Repeat the trick
as necessary.

Glitch: General Kim will not burn:
While fighting General Kim at the airport strip, if
you push him into the fire he will not burn. Be careful, as Nick
will still catch fire if you get too close to the burning plane.

Hint: Bonus mission (Demo version):
Start the Bar Brawl mission in the Demo version of
the game. You have fifty seconds to reach the bar. Intentionally
allow the timer to expire to get another mission.
